Parody Song Title:

"Imagine (There's No Lennon)"

Parody Written by:

Malcolm Higgins

The Lyrics

imagine there's no Lennon,
it's easy if you try
no Yoko to know us
all since he died
imagine Paul-less beatles..
they'd be rolling stones..

imagine Yoko's kung fu
not so hard to do
kick a gun not high, for
saving Johnny too
imagine Paul-less beatles..
they'd be rolling stones..

you may say hey Blasphemer,
but I'm not he only one
Mark David Chapman can join us
and we'll all make him a forgiven one

imagine no bagism,
i wonder if you can,
no getting wet in showers,
the rutles did it, man
imagine Paul-less beatles..
they'd be rolling stones..

you may say hey Blasphemer,
but I'm not he only one
Mark David Chapman can join us
and we'll all make him a forgiven one

Very bad. Anyway, without Lennon... Paul McCartney probably would still have been a songwriter, but unknown outside the British Commonwealth. He'd probably be like soccer: The British begging America to listen, and we'd be saying, "Whattayanuts?" George Harrison would've bagged music and become the world's foremost TV pundit in regard to Eastern religion and mysticism. Ringo Starr would, ironically, have become the most famous in America, as a character actor in Westerns and maybe cop dramas. Maybe he would've played Lord John Marbury, British Ambassador, on "The West Wing" instead of Roger Rees. And if it were Paul, not John, who were missing? No change in George's fate or Ringo's, but as for John, he probably would've ended up in jail, or dead a lot sooner. Rock and roll turned him from a J.D. to an M.B.E.

John would never have been the legend that he was without Paul, Ringo and especially George.

Well Malcolm, I'm not getting what you're getting at here, so no vote, but 2 things:

1: The last 2 lines of the choruses are off paced (irrelevant since I'm not voting but..) and
2: I just happened to have completed an "Imagine" parody myself last night but did submit it for today. Given the drubbing you've taken on this parody already I think that one will probably not get posted.

2Eagle, regarding your comment, "John would never have been the legend that he was without Paul, Ringo and especially George" - are you kidding? George was certainly as talented but Paul and Ringo? Besides, John was such a good anti-war hero. Liberals Rule!

Ooh nasty! I can see the acid-tongue satire here, but not terribly perfect. 444
