The Lyrics

A young boy, he went drivin' out one nice and sunny day
He stopped for lunch at Macca's before going on his way
He looked outside to the car park, and this is what he saw
His brand new car just wasn't there, and a hole in the wall

This wall looked rather strong and was made of the toughest steel
But someone knocked a hole in it without that awful squeal
The boy looked through the hole and he could not believe his eyes
For he saw a giant robot there, his licence plate on its thighs

Yippie-I-o, yippie-I-a
A robot in disguise

The robot had its eyes fixed on a viewscreen on its wrist
It didn't see the boy who ran to clean his pants of shit
But as soon as he returned there was a mighty big surprise
His car was parked where it was, the hole hidden from his eyes

Yippie-I-o, yippie-I-a
No robot in disguise

But when the boy got home, his car suddenly called his name
"Hey, I'm sorry 'bout before, just calm down, please let me explain:
I am an Autobot, and the Decepticons I fight
Our main advantage over them is our knack for disguise"

Yippie-I-o, yippie-I-a
A robot in disguise
It's more than meets the eye
A robot in disguise

The cop strikes again with another Transformers parody... While the topic has been tired from being used in so many parodies by you the original song makes up for it seeing that I've never heard it before today.

"So many"? Out of 225 parodies, only 9 have been about Transformers, 10 if you count Everyone's A Little Bit Fanboy. I may have referenced it in some other parodies, but I don't think less than 5% counts as "so many".

A 554 from me. It was a clever idea for this old chestnut (a big hit from the early 50s for many artists). The rhyming of "shi*/wrist" and "fight/disguise" bothered me a little--and I wonder what could have been done with "yippie ai ay".

Kind of simple buddy, but not a bad parody. . .Your rhyming in this one stretched, but then with Johnny Cash, just getting through it sometimes can be tough, he wasn't known for perfect rhymes either. . .so not bad:) Agreed with your opinion on Transformers, well explained, When you are a huge fan of something there is nothing wrong with showing it a little love. . .so even if it was higher its not like you are the poomaster who writes only about one topic. . .just my opinion on it, write about whatever you want

Nicely done, although I would have preferred something along the lines of "The robot looked so powerful and scary standing there / It didn't see the boy who ran to change his underwear". Love the concept.

While I am not one to talk you and Transformers is like Rex and Star Trek and like me and Rednecks (well not so much anymore, now its more popular culture and movies of all sorts) although I haven't done a Transformers one yet. I think I might do that do.... I just might.

(SOTM) The only Transformers I'm familiar with is the 80s cartoon I used to watch after school as well as Saturday Morning. Yeah, I need to watch that Transformers movie as well. But great parody! Enjoyed it lots and how about those battling Decepticons. Transforming Mecha 555's!!

SOTM: Nice work and nice idea for this song. Not a huge fan of Transformers, but that isn't your fault...555!

If you put COP on super hero steroids you get Robocop. I like that old Johnny Cash song and what you've done with it. Soon as I get my license I want one of those auto-robo-cars painted in camouflage for a great disguise. I like this parody.

SOTM You "transformed' a great OS into an even better PARODY!! 555 volts to keep em going...

The pacing worked just fine for me, pretty much caught the feel of the original, if that's at all possible with a Cash/Transfomers hybrid, but if you wanna be in the contenders seat with this subject on my jury you just gotta bang Megan Fox in there somewhere, if you catch my drift...

This was either Transformers or a recent Black Eyes Peas video. Went well with the song.
