"Gusty North Winds"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

First of March
Only for a moment, I think spring is nigh
But a cold front
Will pass through Illinois and the forecast for tonight,
Gusty north winds,
Five below with gusty north winds

Same old song
Snow covers all the ground in an endless sea
And we freeze
It never seems to warm up, though we hope for spring
Gusty north winds
All we get are gusty north winds, brrr....

Now, don't get mad,
But next week another cold front will arrive from Nome
This is it,
I will take all my money and move to San Antone
Gusty north winds
I will escape the gusty north winds
I will escape the gusty north winds

Gusty north winds
All we get are gusty north winds
All we get are gusty north winds
Cold winds

Hey MM, don't you just love the winters down here? That light dusting of snow we got two weeks ago was the first I have seen stick to the ground in 19 years. I bet you don't miss those Illinois winters. Great parody.

(ABC3G) Although I've lived in VA most of my life, I did spend a while in northern NY in the winter months. Here's some R-555 insulation; you'll need it.

(ABC-G) Oh ho ho! Another Land of Lincolner along with Agri and myself, eh? I can definitely sympathize, being that the Midwest is the home of the most erratic weather on the planet.

(abc3-g) from a dedicated fan of wintertime, I loved the poetry here, Michael - makes me yearn for the cold - 555

(ABC3G) Was the fact that your Illinois parody was done to a Kansas OS intentional or a happy coincidence, Michael? Any which way, this was a nice write. 555
