The Lyrics

Cat challenged me to parody this OS and coincidentally (!) she just happened to be the best title sub (imagine the odds!)...Hope you enjoy it Cat ;-)............(An mp3 of the OS is temporarily available here)
Out on the am-I
right-messageboard
I scrolled "Song Parodies"
there was a mention
of a Cat entry - all dark and witty
I took a quick peek
it was very cool
the ones dude...
got so lampooned
(I loved it too)

Cat took great delight
she bagged him, in the song that she wrote that night
gee I really
love how she
love how she
love how she writes

more please!
Cat plea-ease
procee-eed
to sink those
claw aw-aw-aw-aws
into worthy cau-auses, oh-oh-oh

Cat please!
you need
to conceive
more of these
pa......ro-dy-y-y-ys
unLike A Newbie-ie-ie, oh-oh-oh

[ key change ]

ooh n'she's done...
a Billy Joel too
(quite a tricky
one to do)

it seems she's got...
helluvalot...
of things that peeve her

and she's also done
B...O...G
M...M-G
( N both Rn't......E - Z )

She entertains me alright
seems so sweet but her parodying has bite
gee I really
love how she
love how she
love how she writes

and Cat...
you canned
Guhlee man
and you canned
an............angelina'n'brad
with an equal ha-a-and, oh-oh-oh

but heck...
tar-gets
you select
are correct
but I'll be-e-e-e-et
you won't do one about
Rick Ocasek

oooooooohh
let him have it
let him fee-eel
your claws ooh oh-oh-oh
don't...
be half-hearted
bag a Cars hit
...go GRRRL! whoa oh-oh-oh
show me...

you're no-o...

puss-y!

[ delightful piano tinkling ]

Cat please!
use thee's
expertise
and twist theee
kni...i i-i-i-ife
just "Don't Ask Me Why, I'm...justa guy-uy-uy"

then jeez!
Cat please
make mincemeat
of Kiwis to...

...make Aussies happy!
put some sheep gags in, coz they're
funny-y

ooh please.......

I'd give you tens for this if I could. I never realised how hard it was to sing this tune, never mind parody the lyrics, without the music until I tried. And it is not the easiest tune to fit words to, so this really is some achievement.

I concur with LBGG here, Stu. What an absolute bass turd of a song to parody! You did a mighty fine job honouring our young geniesse. 555+

Five kitty treats for you.

thanks Jack - I'm glad you picked up my veiled reverse challenge

thanks yoidy - esp. as I don't think Wuthering Heights was released in America

thanks Matthias, alvin, Michael and AFW :-)

thanks Lucy's G-G - you're absolutely right - it is a hard nut to crack pacing-wise - the little quirks and details needed to try to match the way Kate sings this were a nightmare

thanks KR - I challenge you now to take this bass turd on!

thanks 2Eagle, especially if they're alcoholic...

FANTASTIC!!!

I didn't think you'd make it about ME...so I guess if this song's going to mock someone (as I thought you'd make it) that'll be my own job!

Gee, I've had Red Ant and Tommy Turtle dedicate parodies to me, and now you...am I becoming the new Arwen? ;) But really, I love how you incorporated everything, that was really, really great. (Though for the last time, there is no K in Ric Ocasek's first name! =P)
Spoof-Man - March 06, 2007 - Report this comment
The new Arwen inded Cat!! Love the song Stuart....keep it coming...555

Teehee, I don't comment on many parodies outside of comps, but technically this was in the Comp threads. . .Cat, you may not have seen this coming, but a parody about you was overdue. . .the thread you made kinda opened up the air waves in the often tightly knit battle that is the AmIRight Comp Threads. . .Congrats Stu on a great parody, and Congrats Cat on a great idea.

thanks Cat - it was quite fun - I thought I'd panick but no, I had a terrifick frollick through your stuff (just ask my kids, Erick and Patric) ;-)

thanks Spoof-Man - yes she is getting a little Arwen-like - without the pouting though

thanks B.A.Dave - although I'd like to think it was more a tribute than a parody - if I got her angry she'd be even more Arwen-like - and besides, I don't like the look of those claws 8-(

(ABC) Fell out of my radar range, glad to have read it. Perfectly paced, in many difficult ways, gives this high marks in the round.

555 for the "claws in a worthy cause ", Sir MacArthur, ~Allied Commander Supreme~!

I missed out on a lot of good parodies last year. This was a funny and fitting feline tribute to Cat. I'm guessing she's got a sadistic side though - wow, that is one bad OS. Even if I didn't have my "bad-song? Auto-5s" rule, this definitely gets full (scratch) marks. Great job, Stu.
Invisible Boy - February 06, 2008 - Report this comment
(ABC) I'm glad I got the chance to see this one. I don't know Cat well enough to get all the jokes, but I promise to begin to do my research.
Matthias - February 06, 2008 - Report this comment
I agree with Red Ant on this one, horrible OS... I thought Kim Carnes had an awful voice, but I don't think that any voices get worse than Kate Bush's, except perhaps George Bush's. Very difficult one to pull off, but you passed with flying colors.
Kristof Robertson - February 06, 2008 - Report this comment
(ABC3L) See above. I still haven't tackled this monstrous confection of an OS, Stu...so kudos for even attempting it. You did great, sunshine.

ABC- I don't know our own kitty that well, but i do enjoy her parodies, and this one seems like a purr-fect tribute to her. Loved the delightful piano tinkling! Good job, Stu!

(ABC) Do I really even need to say any more about this? ;) I'm still a sucker for flattery. (Though Stu and I are apparently some of the few that like "Wuthering Heights?" Bah! Well, I guess it's an acquired taste...)

By the way, if you're wondering where I've been around here in terms of writing, a little thing called senior year's gotten in the way. Don't worry, I'll try to be back around spring break.
