The Lyrics

Poolish Terrain

So theres a town in the states that keeps flooding
Because some idiots build it in a bowl
Now they've build up the barriers for nudding
and they keep rasing the toll

and the eye of the storm is a turning
and the sight of havoc gives em fright
and you'd think someone would be learning
why don't they just give up just take a flight
yeah that's whats right

and now they've promised to help them so quickly
but then left them stranded for weeks
and ya know what happens directly
all of the things start to reek

and you thought it only happened in movies
and never thought it would happen to you
who was it that designed it maybe
I'm starting to think he's a tool

now don't get me wrong i'm a mourner
i watch the people who die and i frown
another 10 mph stronger
and then they're losing the town

now the wind and the rains getting stronger
as buildings collaps to the ground
and the storm that they thought would blow over
clouds, no light, and i loathe the loud sound

now the terror the storm can deliver
and the palms and the sand is so wet
it's the season of doubt now ba-by
it's a terrin-a-bowl mess

I'll rant and rave of this message
when the message's ruin the crop hey
the thoughts of pools we're aware yes

it's just a pool that fills up to the top
plight from above for that town.

repeat to fade

Very depressing and a great message Kevin.

(Artitrsy) Hey Kev...some people don't understand the concept of 555 doesn't necessarily mean 5 for Funny, but rather its meanigfulness and serious tone. There is a serious tone to be sure here, and well done with it...I wish I understood more of the references tho...this was about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans, right? Sorry if I didn't grasp that. On the whole, a neat rewrite.

(Artistry) I don't know a lot about Hurricane Katrina, but the lines "and now they've promised to help them so quickly, but then left them stranded for weeks" really told the whoe story. I've never responded well to serious parodies, but this one works really well. Great job.

This one was really well done, and without a doubt the best parody I've read so far by you Kevin Wrightly, I guess I didn't see it as terribly serious, more like saying "Duh" . . . Um, Katrina was terrible, but Discovery Channel had been predicting that to happen for decades, well done.

I'm not sure why my votes aren't recording here, maybe I alreay voted it. Anyway, great job on a seldomly done LZ song. Tastefully done, which is more than I can say for my three Katrina song ideas ("Under Water" to Queen's "Under Pressure", Hurrican Katrina" to Tone Loc's "Funky Cold Medina" and "Walking on Rooftops" to Katrina and the Waves "Walking on Sunshine").
