Porfle, remember the days of rabbit ears, tinfoil reception boosters, and steerable antennas? How about vacuum tube testers at Sears or Wards??? Or RCA cables and top-loading VCRs? Beta anyone ;-D
I do indeed. My family had a nice extra-tall antenna with a motor that rotated it for better reception. And my first VCR (1981) was an RCA top-loader. No special features outside of a pause button, but the picture was so good that I didn't even know what "tracking" meant.
