The Lyrics

Heart goes out to all affected by Katrina and the whole US for having such a President....
When the big wind blew, buildings they did break
Well the water kept risin', levee it did break
When these things met people had no place to stay
Mean old Bush left people to weep and moan
Lord, mean old Bush left people to weep and moan
What does it take to make a Bush man pick up the phone?
Oh Bush Bad Bush F*ck Bush

Don't he make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your next meal
You dont know which way to go?
He sends in the guard
To shoot right at you
When your just tryin' to stay alive-o

They don't seem to help you, begging dont bring you no food
Very few help you, ignoring life protecting wood
Now Katrina broke, Bush, you got to move
In their plight Bush sat on the fence "n' let them moan
In their plight Bush sat on the fence "n' let them moan
Never thinkin' 'bout the planet & preserving happy homes

Going, Bush has got to go
Bush has got to go
GWB I can't stand you
You going down, going down now, going down
......Protect OUR World Environment NOW!!!..... Please leave a vote or comment or maybe see some of my other songs entering Lucidlupin into parody author search or Google lucidlupin leebee 020905

Now how about writing about the murderers and rapists that are looting, torching, raping, and killing in New Orleans...shooting at my helicopter as I try to evacuate sick people from the hospitals and rescue people stranded on rooftops. Did Bush shoot at me? No, it was your murderers in New Orleans who made it impossible to get relief in until they were neutralised. How would you like your mom to fly a helicopter over New Orleans with automatic weapons shooting at it? No? Then why would you have the President fly over a bunch of murdering savages with machine guns shooting at him? Tell you what, you get to New Orleans and I'll personally fly you to the convention center, where you can meet the murdering bastards yourself, and bash Bush together. BTW, this parody sucks. 3-1-1

Way to go Carol. It's a pity that people who dont agree with the sentiment or slant of a parody are too cowardly or unable to say their piece in a coherent intelligent manner with their own name on it and also lack the awareness to realise that because one holds one view it doesnt automatically mean one supports the opposite. I've come to similar concusions as yourself and dont align myself either way - the shame about this is that one can be labelled as 'apathetic' etc. and for true representation and democracy I for one would like to see a box to tick on ballot papers for "dont like any of these options-present us with something better" but we are never furnished with this choice........

Friday, September 2nd, 2005 Vacation is Over... an open letter from Michael Moore to George W. Bush Friday, September 2nd, 2005 Dear Mr. Bush: Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag. Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with? Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without po wer. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her! I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike? And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ! On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that. There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland. No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fau lt that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this! You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit. Yours, Michael Moore MMFlint@aol.com www.MichaelMoore.com P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

Dear Michael Moore: your head is fatter than your ass. I don't see you down there helping. I notice you also don't say a word against the mayor and the governor, who sat on their asses and did nothing while flood waters covered hundreds of buses that they could have used to move those people out. But they're Democrats, so their laziness doesn't count against them in your eyes, does it? You, Mr. Michael Moore are a liar, a traitor, and a racist. Your films are a blight on humanity and your propaganda has aggravated the suffering of millions. We, on the other hand, have done our duty to our fellow Americans, of which you clearly are no longer one. Our conscience is clear. If you seek a political climate more to your liking than ours where people are allowed to tell you what an asshole you are, I suggest you move to Cuba, where they use your films to torture political prisoners.

Your name says it all. You are the intolerant racist. You strive to take choice away from women every day. You stood by and watched as thousands of your fellow Americans suffered and died and New Orleans. You let this happen because they are poor and black. First you tried to blame it on the poor people whose lives were devasted, who were told help was on the way, who went without food and water, in unsanitary conditions for days upon days. Your leader went to raise money in California. His pawns tried to put out the word that it wasn't as bad as television was showing it to be = yes, the compassionate conservatives blaming the liberal bias in the media. Of course the United States government would never torture anyone, would they? The real patriots are those who exercise their First Amendment rights - those who speak out against the government when the government is wrong. The government is wrong with respect to the war in Iraq and the government was wrong in the handling of those poor people in New Orleans. There is blood of his own people on the hands of the man who leads this country.

Big G--I know I had the RIGHT to vote, but that hardly matters when the whole thing falls into such chaos that a panel of judges has to APPOINT him as president. Tell me please the last time that happened and how many times in history that has happened. As far as I'm concerned, the voting process was a sad joke in 2001, the entire thing was rigged, there was no "real" election by popular vote of the American people. Bush has been in office x2 now. Tell us please what is to stop him from getting into office a 3rd time. Right now I'm still following a bill that was introduced that would repeal section 22 of the US Constitution limiting a president to only 2 terms. Try this scenerio on for size: We have a mega 9-11. Or nuclear war. He gets ushered in as "president" for life.

Well, the fake Carol has one point: I could show the Democratic Party the backbone they've been missing. Really, how much more energy would it have taken Al Gore to turn to Bush at one of the debates and say, "Here's my resume. What've you got?" Or John Kerry to say, as Clinton did to his dad, "You've had it your way, you've had your chance, and it didn't work. It's time to change." I, of course, would've told Bush, "You were given your chance, not by the voters, and you failed. And now, you're fired." And then he could've vacationed in Crawford for as long as he wanted. How much you wanna bet the 2008 GOP Convention is at the Superdome, just as the '04 Convention was at the Garden, six miles from Bush's biggest failure?

Carol - Two words for you: Instant Runoff. Everybody picks a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice candidate. First they tally everyone's first choice. If nobody gets more than 50% of the vote, they add in the 2nd place choices. They stop when they get more than 50% of the total votes. That way you can vote for the 'viable' candidate after voting for your true preference. Of course, it would break the backs of the two parties and let thirds and indies into the game.

My sympathy to the more intelligent part of US inhabitants, i.e. the ones that didn't vote for that utterly useless piece of garbage now occupying the white house. To all the rest of you...I hope that sometime in the future also the US can join the ranks of democratic countries where the one that gets the most votes also actually wins the election. As it is now you are the laughing stock of an entire world...about as capable of handling your own so called democratic election without corruption as any under developed banana-republic. And then you, being a fashist dictatorship nation, pump all your money into the army and go galavanting around the world trying to impose what you call "democracy" and "freedom" on comparatively defenseless third world countries. It is pathethic beyond compare. Even on your home soil you have the amount of handguns in private ownership that you can all blow yourself away tenfold. Any mental psychopat can just go down to the store and buy one, or ten. And then you get surprised that someone actually use them! For example now in New Orelans where people are even shooting at the rescue teams. And then most people respond not by realizing that the way to stay safe is if nobody had guns, like we in the civilized parts of the world have realized a long time ago...no you go out and buy even more guns to be "safe". I think the Americans are actually the biggest threat against world peace with your eagerness to solve everything with violence. I just wish that the EU would send peacekeeping forces into the US and teach you what democracy and freedom is...since you seem to have a perverted twisted view what those words really mean...and of course to neutralize that trigger happy texas redneck you have as a president before he becomes the cause of a third world war!

I'm no fan of Bush at all but this seems a little tasteless and insensitve, and somewhat opportunistic. I have some sympathy with the helicopter pilot's comments above. I also think Tomas has several good points. While individual emergency workers have aquitted themselves well, according to some of the Brits who have just got back from New Orleans, neither the leaders, planners nor a section of the public have covered themselves with glory, with shootings, rapes and gangs (and of course, if folk have guns, they are going to use them.). Too little community spirit and too much 'everyone for himself'. What were all those buses doing being left in a parking lot to be flooded when the mayor had ordered a total evacuation? The biggest failing seems to be the lack of organisation. What on Earth is FEMA for if not a situation like this? Bush should have intervened sooner with more, and appeared only to do so at all when he saw his poll rating threatened, but surely FEMA should have had it covered. God help America if they ever get a really massive emergency, such as a disease outbreak, covering the whole country, rather than a city and a few neighbouring towns.

There has been some good dialogue on many different and sometimes opposing sides to this simple parody as well as some crass not saying anything comments & insults some of which have been removed by amiright administrators. The parody was written 2 September before some of the complexities of this tragedy had become fully apparent and my response would have been the same no matter whether a Democrat or a Republican etc. was in office. I have no particular axe to grind and do not represent any political or other organisation etc. hence I refute accusations that I am "opportunistic". I don't regard parody songs as simply something to get a laugh but as a medium of expression-funny or not. That said however I find it hard to understand that some people feel this tragic situation has nothing to do with politics when funding decisions and prioritising BEFORE it occured helped exacerbate the situation as did the administrations response as and since the hurricane hit. It is not as if Katrina snuck up taking everyone totally by surprise, the appalling lack of adequate planning and allocation of resources regarding this hurricane and its potentiality and possible variable outcomes is absolutely outrageous and the administrations slow response when it hit beggars belief and again just made matters worse and contributed to other bad things developing. The parody was written from a perspective on the other side of the world in the UK and I know people who are and were directly involved and affected by this tragedy - I dont agree that the situation warrants being gagged and told to shut up at all.
Arthur Pewty - September 06, 2005 - Report this comment

It's amazing how many inaccuracies one can spout in ignorance of the facts. Are any of those who complained here that FEMA didn't act quickly enough aware that in it's disaster policy to the States FEMA specifically requires the States to be self sufficient for 72-96 hours before FEMA resources can be mobilized? Have any of you ever been in the Reserves and realize it takes 48 hours to mobilize from dead stop? Are you all aware that the corrupt Mayor of New Orleans failed in ALL of his responsibilities to his constituants? Are you all aware that the President in this case really could not have done ANYTHING to possibly make the rescue and Aid efforts move any faster? Of coarse not. It's so easy to make blanket statements about Bush's incompetance even though it has absolutely NOTHING to do with this tragedy. Is Bush a clown and a fraud? Yep probably. And I voted for him in 2000, but that doesn't have any bearing on the fact that he had ZERO responsibility for Anything that has gone wrong or right with this situation. Bash Bush all you want he has done plenty to deserve it, but if any of you seriously think he had any hand in any part of New Orleans, Good OR Bad, you are sadly mistaken and uninformed. It simply takes TIME to mobilize relief efforts in the wake of a disaster. Get with the program, GROW up and quit your bitching and get out your checkbooks or better yet get your whiny asses down to the Gulf and help instead of bellyaching about something Bush could not POSSIBALLY have changed in ANY WAY.

Rational you ignorant mind. So given any acts of terrorism, FEMA would require at least a 72 hour waiting period? This nation looks to a president during crisis times; George was in San Diego. It's sad how wrong you are on this. Even sadder for those who had to suffer through this. Bottom line is that every effort to mobilize help on every level should have happened beginning on Tuesday at the latest. "Brownie" from FEMA told Ted Koppel during the Thursday edition of Nightline that the first they had officially heard about people in the Convention Center was that day. Too little, too late on the part of the Federal government. Wake up and don't give me this bs about how much time it takes to mobilize anyone. By the way, what does POSSIBALLY mean? Could you possibly tell me?
Arthur Pewty - September 11, 2005 - Report this comment
This comment is directed to Rational Mind without malice. If FEMA's brief is NOT to react for at least 72 hours, then that brief needs to be changed. The consequences of such a policy have been illustrated by Katrina, ie catastrophic, lives lost when it was avoidable. In the UK there is a body called the Emergency Planning College that works to have a reaction ready PRIOR to an emergency so that, when one occurs, it is good to go immediately. Where resources take time to mobilise, that time is (a) reduced by planning and (b) factored in, None ot this 'wait-and-see' messing about. The word 'emergency' means 'something needs to be done NOW.' If states are supposed to be sufficent for 72 hours, then maybe the states' command and control structures for an emergency should be switched to FEMA *as soon as* an emgergency is apparent instead, so that it under a single command, organised and with contingency plans already made. After all, the FBI doesn't react to a federal crime only 72 hours later, does it? Rational Mind - I would welcome your comments on this. This is a political decision - not partisan political, but politics nonetheless. Bush maybe not to blame, maybe no-one is to blame - but - you've got to admit - the US has got to learn from Katrina how to react faster and more effectively to a disaster. Americans, with the powerful nation they inhabit, deserve nothing less. Their homeland security should be the best, whether it's in disaster management or anything else. It certainly isn't at the moment.

"I as President am responsible for this." So Mr Bush puts his hand up, after the ball has past him. Good of him, but I still have two questions: What part of 'emergency' did he not understand? and Does he understand it now, with Rita on the way? The same questions are addressed to FEMA. Do they now a leader who has contingency plans that can be implemented immediately should the need arise?
