The Garden State Race Track was a South Jersey popular spot. After a fire in 1980 South Jersey politicians wanted to rebuild it, however the state chose to fix or buildup the Meadowlands sport complex up North. This was when Local South Jersey politicians had gotten the idea to try and secede from North Jersey when every county except for Ocean County voted to do so.
