The Lyrics

Think I've lost my Mind
A two's still is a duce
Another watermelon rind
(repeat3x)

MadAnn jester Fester
Indians in the ballpark got some rabies from their bat
Little foal looking dull as the mindedabsent pulls a wabbit from her hat
With an ogre by my shoulder, makin' fast food order
I tripped on merry-old-clown
It was very unpleasin', airborne tray heavin'
My small supersize fell to the ground
My small supersize fell to the ground
Sorry I

Think I've lost my Mind
A two's still is a duce
Another watermelon rind
(repeat3x)

Yum ice cream cone liqueur with a tongue on her blister told me I've got Frosted Flakes
I'll give you Coca Puffs Sonny they're really strong
Juggle three aspirins for headache
And no-art Mozart was playin' down the solar chart go hide because the cows outside
And little Lowly-Wormy came by in his appy-wappy and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride
Sorry I

Think I've lost my Mind
A two's still is a duce
Another watermelon rind
Think I've lost my Mind

I fell down but I never got fired
I'm gonna bake it through tonight
I'm gonna bake it through tonight
But lama that's where all the pun is
But lama that's where all the pun is
Llama always told me not to spit out saliva with my gum
But lama, that's where the pun is
Some flintstone saxophone homophone go buy your own teacher from the east
Says, "Dehome the lawnagnome, hit it in it's doggy bone,
Think that's what he said at least
And my new-blown play-at-home harmonic it's a horner
Attracts ants to my pants
Have this found-grown moonstone, was sittin' in my freezer home, it will make him evolve fast
The poke ball blue up the town
You know I

Think I've lost my Mind
A two's still is a duce
Another watermelon rind
(A. Repeat 9x B. Use your Sledge O' Matic on the watermelons)

MadAnn jester Fester
Indians in the ballpark got some rabies from their bat
Little foal looking dull as the mindedabsent pulls a wabbit from her hat
With an ogre by my shoulder, makin' fast food order
I tripped on merry-old-clown
It was very unpleasin', airborne tray heavin'
My small supersize fell to the ground
My small supersize fell to the ground
Got caught with an ink blot finally washed the stupid spot and found more ink blots on my hand
And some bloodshot ink blot-me-not wrote who is within earshot save the buckshot, turn up the bland
Yum ice cream cone liqueur with a tongue on her blister told me I've got Frosted Flakes
I'll give you Coca Puffs Sonny they're really strong

I fell down but I never got fired
I'm gonna bake it through tonight
I'm gonna bake it through tonight

I can't remember very much of the original but what I do remember you matched pacing very well and I agree with alvin the original didin't make sense in fact this version could actually make MORE sense! LOL!

Yeah, I think Springsteen was on some good chemicals when he wrote this. I liked the OS, but I love your version. Good work. 555

(Amiright Idol) hi Ann. I've talked with you many times before, and what I've said before still applies. You favor spontaneous, stream-of-conscious writing, of which I approve of, but sometimes this can be a downfall. Surrealism turns off many readers, although it should be known that Red Ant and Below Average Dave have been known to go "random" and wacky now and then, too.
You didn't write a 2nd chorus or a new verse at the coda; it is VERY hard to do so with 'Blinded By The Light', but our forthcoming rounds should be easier than that. Good luck!

(AmIRight Idol) Ann, this is one of the biggest challenges entered into the round as far as OS's are concerned. Backing tracks do exist, so in a regular round it can be recorded. Your rhyme scheme was fantastic, though some of the lines were a tad confusing and it seemed that perhaps it was self oriented. Self oriented work is good as a write, and even as a recording once a fan base has been built. As one who has gotten to know you a tad, I can say that I got it though. Overall this was among your better writes, but one thing you want to watch is backing vocals. In some songs it doesn't make a big deal, but the ending is missed here and in this song it does play a big role.
Red Ant - June 14, 2008 - Report this comment
(Idol) Taking on this OS is no easy task because of the nasty rhymes, nonsensical lyrics and repetitive chorus. You did an excellent job on the rhyme scheme. There's some funny lines like "with a tongue on her blister" and "lawnagnome". Varying choruses is nice, but in this song it would get impossibly messy in a recording for two people to sing unique lines in the backing vocal part at the end. Watch for typos though: "A two's still is a duce" doesn't pace - I figured out the "is" is redundant. Small things like that detract from the read and have to be fixed before recordings can be done. Overall I liked this.
