The Lyrics

I'm in a quandry...... :D
There are rhymes I have when I wish to say what's on my mind.
Even though I know that I'm not gonna flirt.
Before I sing this "maybe" song let me tell you, I thought through.
I hold the prose close, hope words spoke don't land me in loony bins.

There's been another song that I've written and approved.
Just don't know if I should use that mess.
Maybe I should suppress that naughty song that might have some thrills.
It embarrasses the HECK out of me (can't even cuss at will).

Chorus
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' both kinds of songs, somethin' I can't do.
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' you both is breakin' all my rules.

You mustn't shrink and leave me.
Because I wrote something else.
Your kind was the first, this is just a fad.
And all the words I ever spread
On notepad - still are true.
For no other song can make me smile the weird way you do.

Chorus
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' both kinds of songs, somethin' I can't do.
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' you both is breakin' all my rules.

I couldn't really blame my muse if it faded away.
With all the emotions felt inside, I'm hoping that you'll stay.

Chorus
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' both kinds of songs, somethin' I can't do.
Torn between two druthers, know what I should do.
Likin' you both is breakin' all my rules.

(Fade)

Hey...sometimes when there are too many problems going on, this can BECOME a form of real life ,hopefully just for a while, and just for amusement. :)

Nice job of putting words to some uneasy contradictory & ambivalent feelings. Moth to a flame? No, something more complex. Answers? You would be the only one able to go where they are. Hmmm...I'm either closing in on this one or about to become a fortune cookie quote. Seriously, though, very nice work here, Pat.
