The Lyrics

This is about a guy that really enjoys his work...even dances to it. The midi is...http://www.christyku.com/sound/sound.html Just scroll down
I'm just a wond'ring in this place why there is girth.
There are so many people who are buy'n for a fee.
So smile I'm hashing and see so many nerds
"Language barriers broken, now we find the key"
And if you want to dine and some change point at the view
And you're the only other person that knows, just show me.
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.

I get the picture and start browning your burg
What do you want on it, we gotta agree.
A thousand styles you see I do amaze
You know that I am jiving, I flip burg and twirl, see
You gasp at my flaunt and expect your burg to be through
But I catch it on the your browned bun, you see me
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.

And with a sleight of hand I make a steeple
Make a steeple of your toppings put it on a half
And I will not make it worse than all the unbrightened people...people
I'm not scorching your burg, scorching your burg.

"I'm just a wand'ring on the face of this earth"
No roots abound me..work anywhere cuz I'm free
While your unrav'ling and hear so many words
I've got your eggs all broken, let me cook I plea
And if you want the kind of change that is due to you
And if you're the only other person to know, don't tell me.
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.

-instrumental-

I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.

I've got fries at my command for all the people
For all the people and with more food in reserve
And when you see a frightened person, he is frightened at the people
Who are scorching his fries, scorching your burg.

"Music is the traveler crossing the world"
Eating so many burgers bridging the seas
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.
Music is the traveler crossing the world
Eating so many burgers we bridge the seas
I'm just a slinger of hash browns at this stand.
We're just the slingers of hash browns at this stand.

Justin, John, Graeme, Ray, and Mike would get a chuckle from this, Pat! Good job.

Oh...what kind of a chuckle??
Johnny D - June 28, 2004 - Report this comment
A hearty chuckle born out of years of experience swilling Guinness and eating Great Britain's fabled fish-and-chips!
Meriadoc - June 28, 2004 - Report this comment
"Scorching your burg!" LOL! Isn't this such a fun song to do? The Moody Blues best single, IMHO.
Adagio - June 28, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Mer! Glad I chose this one 'cause I didn't mind listening to it again and again.

Very good title, good parody. There were 2 or 3 lines that you did not change (I know, you attributed them with ""s), but I think the parody would have been better if you had been able to change them.

(ABC05) Commented before, but just wanted to point out the poetics of "scorching his burg." Sounds like a euphemism!

(I-05) I have to agree with Agrimorfee on that line ^ there. Another great MB parody from you Adagio.

Matthias - December 25, 2007 - Report this comment
I normally say "Take This McJob And Shove It", but I mean somebody has to like working at Burger King. Burg didn't really work, I know you were trying to pace and everything and it does perfectly, but "burg" just didn't settle too well in my stomach. Everything else was a pure 5-star dining experiance.
adagio - December 25, 2007 - Report this comment
Thanks,Matthia Oh, I'm a recent 'returnee', too.. And just what is wrong with 'burg'? :
Red Ant - December 28, 2007 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I'd forgotten about this one of yours, Pat. One of your earlier works, but it scans quite well and is pretty funny.
Matthias - December 28, 2007 - Report this comment
I just never heard a slang word besides "burger" for "hamburger" before. Bringing it a step past "burg" what's next "bug"? I don't know maybe that's my own lack of slang dictionary... I dunno...

Thanks, Jack!

(art) I couldn't put it better than I did in my previous 2 comments, Pat - way to honour a title-sub idea girl! (as Oprah might say) - it is definitely a while since I read one of your parodies, but your style just comes flooding back!
Invisible Boy - January 10, 2008 - Report this comment
Great idea...Great parody. Left me hungry for more.
Rex - January 10, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) Mmmmmmmm... hash browns. Unlike Matthias I didn't mind the shortening of hamburger to one syllable. "I flip burg and twirl" really struck me as funny for some reason.
Below Average Dave (badave.com) - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I have to be honest, I misread it at first as "bug" and that busted me up. . .enough of the burg controversy. . .I think it was creative Adagio, why aren't you in contests more often guy?
Agrimorfee - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
SHE must be very busy IRL, Dave. Maybe SHE will enter more often with that encouragement. :)
adagio - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
Thanks Aggie for clearing up that I'm a 'she'. : ) Thanks BAD, and Rex...yea...wondered what the fuss was about.
adagio - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
And you're right, Aggie....this girl WILL enter more often if acknowldged as such.
Below Average Dave (badave.com) - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
Well see, you have enter more often so that I can't make that assumption;) Sorry Adagio. . .so let me rephrase "I have to be honest, I misread it at first as "bug" and that busted me up. . .enough of the burg controversy. . .I think it was creative Adagio, why aren't you in contests more often girl?"
adagio - January 11, 2008 - Report this comment
Oh...look above...this one won a medal and I've been in contests since they were invented. I even forget how long I've been here. But, I was and still am taking a 'burnt-out' break. Then I come back and everyone thinks I'm a noob (and a male)....lol
