The Lyrics

Me, I felt just fine
'Til the time
That I went there
News was grim
So says him.

At first I felt strong
Felt a song
That's when I sought
Need a clue
And then I knew.

Then I felt a chill
'Til then try to find me
A stable way
'Cause my mind is all at sea
So I'll be what I am
I'm just the way I am
Just the way I am.

To most must appear
That this thing has not occurred
Minor thing
I must sing.

Began to have fun
And I began to renew
I felt calm
All along.

The phone, it is shrill
It's as shrill as a banshee
To my dismay
It says things in front of me
I'll be what I am
I'm just the way I am
Just the way I am.

I'll go and I'll grill
And my will is strong and free
And they can't say
"She won't stay and won't agree."
So I'll be what I am
I'm just the way I am
Just the way I am.
Just the way I am.
Just the way I am.

Second voter, I need you to comment on why the 3's. It helps.

Amen to that, Adagio! Right on! ;-)

Adagio --- I typed my previous comment into the comment-entry-box and before I could click "Submit Comments", I had to step away from the computer suddenly for almost an hour.....when I came back I submitted my comment (to go along with my vote of 5-5-5, I was the first voter on this parody), and then I saw your comment posted before mine. I just wanted to clarify the time-sequence of events here...... and again, I love this parody, and I again say RIGHT ON! It deserves my vote of 555! ;-)

If Popeye wrote this one, it would probably be, I yam whats I yam. Loved the parody.

Pat, this is very poetic, and was with you until the phone line. Then it seemed to jog to the side. I don't know the original that well, and I sometimes do the same thing when I'm going for a match of original lyric. (As Agri told me yesterday). Then I didn't get "I'll go and I'll grill". The phone kept interupting the cookout? It bugs me that Guy and Johnny get it and I didn't. Anyway, that's probably why someone gave you threes.

Thanks Johnny, Guy and Rick!
Rick, it's just an espression of my emotion at that time and has nothing to do with a cookout. I really mean to fool no one....sorry. Whether Guy and Johnny get it ....um....some of my parodies, are meant so that the person may apply it to their own circumstance. "The Corridor" was a good example of that, better so than this. Anyway, thanks for telling me why somebody probably gave me 3's. I should put a disclaimer at the top maybe...lol.

I don't "get" it, I "dig" it. There's a difference....but it's all good. ;-)

I kept getting lost, too...but, because of that, I didn't vote...

Thanks again, Johnny.....yea...dig it is more impt, here :)

Arwen, at least you visited and put your opinion in, right? ;)

I like parodies that I don't "get". Parodies that I don't "get" I can usually really "dig" on an intuitive, visceral, emotional level. Another example of parodies that I usually really dig are those by Green Bloodied Hound Dogs/Jessy Leppert.....GBHD writes parodies that get me laughing out loud for real, because of the way they freely and playfully leap from one thing to another in a blissfully Zen-like non-sequitorial fashion....I can really dig that.....that's why I've dubbed Jessy "The Zen Master of Amiright".

Adagio, Nice job...and having a bit of "Inside" information, I think I KNOW what you're talking about. 5's...
