Simple, but very funny. Song parodies don't have to be intricate to be funny. This parody is the musical equivalent of a one-liner

And as long as we're on the subject of dreadful Christmas songs by ex-Beatles how about Lennon's "So this is Christmas" At least McCartney was keeping in the spirit of the season and being upbeat ...... And as an aside, I think those two songs highlight one reason why the Beatles rarely put out a sh*tty song -- both Lennon and McCartney were a check on each other's worst impulses. On the negative side, the tension between these two headstrong individuals n*x*ng each other's sh*tt*est ideas eventually blew up the group
