As Stravinsky once said about John Cage, "I'm looking forward to works of greater length from this composer" I pushed the button to vote, but it just honked at me.

Malcolm, I'll check my e-address book when I get home from the office. Somewhere I think I have their URL, which may have an e-mail link.

Don't post that kind of stuff here. Get out. You can leave in a cab. If that's too expensive, you can leave in a huff. If that's not enough time, you can leave in a minute and a huff. As for me, I gotta go shoot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know. Actually, it's the estate of John Cage you really need to worry about, and I don't mean "the Biscuit" from "Ally McBeal." They may sue you for stealing their idea.

Is there anything further, Father? Somebody fill me in on this John Cage thing. I'm afraid I've been left out of the loop again.

John Cage is rather famous for writing a "piano piece" called 4'33', where the pianist simply sits at the bench for that length of time. The avant-gardian concept being that the "music" is whatever sounds occur in the room during that time. That is what prompted Stravinsky's comment that I applied here. And Michael, you left out the next line, which today would be "You haven't stopped talking since you got here. You must have been tattoo'd with a CD laser"

Do you suppose that the writers on "Ally McBeal" were aware of John Cage the composer? I was actually part of a group that performed his (the composer, not the TV character) piece for eight radios.
