The Lyrics

Many of you have undoubtedly heard the popular theory regarding the synchronicity of "The Wizard of Oz" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." My husband and I tried, using instructions from the internet, to watch the movie while the CD is playing. After following the directions carefully, making sure that it was cued up in the right place, and watching as specified, we're still skeptical.
"Oz" and "Moon"
There's movie synchronicity with ev'ry tune
So they say
I read that when I surfed the internet today
"Wizard of Oz", when it's played
From a certain spot
Matches up with Pink Floyd's classic work perfectly
Songs follow the plot

My CD
Was cued up
And so was the DVD
Ready for
The so-called start, MGM lion's third roar
"Breathe" comes on when they are BREATHING - oooh! -- then
Miss Dorothy's on the fence
Toto runs, Miss Gulch ruins their fun
"Time" plays, the lyrics tense

[I mean, it works in a few places, but I don't know...
It seems a real reach, right? The tornado with chimes, okay...
I mean, someone must have too much time on their hands,
perhaps too much weed... Maybe pulling our legs!
Characters all moving to the music -- big deal!
But... oh well... I mean, this stuff didn't cost me anything, so...]

Auntie Em --
Her movements don't match very well with "Us and Them"
Hey, you know...
The CD's over and there's still much more to go
I need a way -- now what do I play
For the next episode?
Well, then -- what if I try putting on "Goodbye
Yellow Brick Road"?

All 5s And a tip of the hat to you for doing the 'dirty work' of checking...so the rest of us didn't have to.

DKTOS but I can tell you put a lot of work into this one Mari - great details.

Hehehe...always wondered about that, but have tape of 'Dark Side', but not of Oz (too lazy too rent and check). Good Work!

Outstanding effort, Mari, and a highly original idea to boot. Fives all the way.

Jude, Johnny, Adagio, Aussie -- thanks for the kudos! Doing this one was fun, especially since trying to watch the movie and listen to the CD at the same time was not!

Great job Mari. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't find it all that fascinating (I think I was missing the magical pharmaceutical ingredient). Also, I tried watching "Raising Arizona" while listening to "Town And Country" by the Raveups and got roughly the same effect, except I finally had to turn up the sound when William Forsythe and John Goodman were being hilarious. Anyway, well done; loved the Auntie Em part.

Used to wanna try that. Now...I'd just as soon turn the sound off altogether and do fake voices for everyone with my sister. It was always fun when we were kids. Really good job with this and it flows excellently.

Cute, and very true..but it's still a fun practice. Next time, try playing "Wish You Were Here" when "Dark Side" ends. Also--try Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" while playing "Meddle" (start the CD when the credits roll, and play the CD 3 times).

Claude, 2nz, & Agrimorf -- thanks! "Meddle" -- hmm... maybe I'll try "Echoes" next. I love that song, despite the length.
