The Lyrics

If you wanna check out the first one, just check my songs list for it. And this is somewhere between the 20th and 50th time each one of these songs has been parodied, so thanks for looking mine over.
Gimli, son of Gloin, you have joined the fellows
But insist you don't wanna be thrown you say
A huge beard on your face
(Braid)-ed with grace
Running so hard to keep with the pace

(We must)
De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

Legolas with keen sight you fight-
Arrows rush to meet with some orcs who won't last the day
An elf knife for the chase
(ya) long eared race
Walking on the snow, not leaving a trace

De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

(Samwise)
De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

Boromir's a strong man, stout man, brave
Has a dream, gonna get to Gondor some day
He thinks my ring is nice
Bad advice
Before this war is over he's gonna think twice

De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

(Merry)
De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

(Every hobbit)
De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

De-stroy
De-stroy
One Ring

(Fellowship)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Through Moria
For days on end
Opened the entrance
With the elvish for friend
We took one break
Gollum came too
He once was smeagol now he's a disgrace
And he wants you
I'm talkin' bout my ring, my ring, my ring, my ring
We are the fellows, my friends
And we'll get to Mordor in the end
I know we can't lose
We all have tattoos
No time for Gollum
'cause we are the fellows of the ring
What can I do now,
when Grey Gandalf falls
I miss his staff, his temper and fireworks that Pippin lit
I miss them all
But this is the path I've chosen
I can't refuse
We faced off against a cave troll and a balrog in the mines
And I still need shoes
And so we must fight on, and on, and on, and on.
We are the fellows, my friends
And we'll face what Sauron tries to send
I know we can't lose
We all have tattoos
No time for Gollum
'cause we are the fellows of the ring
We are the fellows, my friends
And we'll stand with Frodo and defend
I know we can't lose
We all have tattoos
No time for Gollum
Oh, long live the fellows...
Again, first one is on my songs list ;c)
Excellent!
Well done. Should have more votes.
2nz - January 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, what ya gonna do? My plan is to make at least another sequel or two and shamelessly plug the preceding songs in the each one.
How is it that I have missed this parody up until now??? It's FABULOUS!!! If I could give you higher than all 5s, I would. I LOVE it!!!
2nz - January 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks Arwen. You're too kind. See it's my fault for liking this parody too much when I released it. The parody powers that be decided to remind me of my place with as few initial votes as possible.
I wasn't online much through the holidays...so...I choose to blame myself for my slacking. Seriously...it's SO good. And I apparently like my parodies WAY too much when I submit them...and never get as many votes as I think I should...but oh well. Excellent work...again!
I liked the line: "I still need shoes"! :-D
2nz - January 09, 2004 - Report this comment
Haha. Excellent. Thanks Merry. I'm trying to fit some form of that one line into every parody in the series.
2nz - checked it out even though I am bearing no ring lordship or even knavehood as far as I know. If it were a less LOTR referenced (obviously not possible for what you were trying to communicate) I would have tried it out because your postings are always well put together. Couldn't do a vote here, though. OH...You'll have to work on your "shameless plugging" technique, it appears you missed the last Seminar. Since I haven't been on-line since 12/31 I haven't finisihed any of my current ideas (need to check original lyrics, etc., to see if I'm really doing the whole song and if it actually goes the way I remember it), so I gave some thought to some advanced "shameless plugging" strategies. If you do it it's really got to be blatant and totally without shame. If you can put something that really works together your stuff will get more looks and a lot of readers will appreciate the totallity of your effort. Hell, I don't mind being manipulated for a good cause, like being well amused and fully chuckled out.
I have only seen the first movie and not read the books, but I think I know enough to know that this is a well crafted parody.
Guy - April 06, 2004 - Report this comment
Well done 2nz.
I am likewise surprised that it didn't get more votes/comments, and also that I *personally* didn't vote/comment it when it came out. 5/5/5, and you are definitely on my list of contenders for the A contest.
2nz - Well, it's a good job so 5's are in order here. You picked a combination here I try to stay away from: "We Are The Champions" (I am truly and totally sick of this song. Especially after the Lakers have won all those Championships! I like the Lakers but I am SO tired on this song.) and the "LOTR" trilogy (I guess I will vote occasionally on those from now on since I saw MOST of the 1st movie). Actually, I'm really tired of "Queen" in general to be honest. That's why I skip the "Bohemian Rhapsody" parodies for the most part.
Good Lord of the Rings - I love this! Far from an obvious choice, and you nailed it. Many great lines - I particularly liked the outside elements, like dwarf tossing and the tattoos.
martha - April 09, 2004 - Report this comment
good one 2nz .. I am not too familiar with the LOTR stuff but liked the looik of this one..as the others have said some very nice lines...
