The Lyrics

The young 'uns out there probably are thinking, "What the hell's a Weeble?" Click here to find out
When I was boy had some cool toys
Playin’ in my room with the stuff from my last birthday
But my favorite ones
I loved them tons
Rollin’ them ‘round was nothing but fun

Because Weebles, Weebles wobble!
Weebles, Weebles wobble!

When I was a young man mom had
Put ‘em in a box gonna simply throw them away
I said mom don’t you dare
Those things are rare
Pirates and Santa and even Pooh bear

Weebles, Weebles wobble! (Love ‘em)
Weebles, Weebles wobble!

Now I am an old man big plans
Gotta supplement ‘cause my 401k went ‘way
I sell several a week
To eBay geeks
I’m making quite a bundle from egg-shaped antiques

Weebles, Weebles wobble! (Buy 'em)
Weebles, Weebles wobble!
Don’t ya know that Weebles, Weebles wobble!
Weebles, Weebles wobble!
Yeah, stuff from the 70s doesn't make much sense now.

Yes, this does take one back a bit. I remember the ads - "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down". And good luck selling collectables during an economic crunch. Collectables are far from recession proof. Collectables sell well when times are good unless they happen to be gold and silver coins.

This parody rocks or should I say wobbles, but in a good way. Fine choice of OS for this topic. High 5's for this. I am reminded of a joke "herd" long ago about "Weebles" and yes you may groan at the punch line.

A herd of cows and two bulls are eating grass out in the pasture. Suddenly, a great gust of wind comes ripping across the prairie and knocks all the cows to the ground. But, the bulls just sway in the wind and continue eating.

When the wind quiets down, the cows stand up, brush off the dirt, and start eating again. A bit later, one cow looks up just in time to see a tornado tearing through the pasture fence. The tornado knocks the cows every which way, but the bulls just rock back and forth as they are buffeted.

When the cows get back on their feet and pick the straw out of their hide, they all walk over to the bulls.

One cow says, "Why do we cows get knocked over by wind but you bulls keep standing?"

The two bulls laugh and reply, "We bulls wobble, but we don't fall down."

I think a character in Toy Story was one of these things... That Andy kid had a lot of old toys, I mean since a Space Ranger Action Figure is something new and exciting and those have been around for ages, and he didn't even have a computer or video games... Anyways.... A nice look back at a simpler time.

I weally wemember weebles. I think I have some up in the attic stashed away with a box full of "Brio" train tracks, 14 "American Girl" dolls and a "Barbie" collection. I even have "Divorce Barbie" which is worth a lot because it comes with Ken's house, Ken's car, Ken's boat etc...

BTW...the Rays are killin' us...

alvin - Now maybe I'll write LEGO to either Luka or Lola.

Ann - I was the wrong age when Fraggles came around. Too old for the cutesy part of them, to young for the Muppet nostalgia.

Matty - I don't remember a Weeble in Toy Story, but I haven't seen it in a while

Stinky, Melanie - Thanks.

i haven't SEEN one of those Weebles, but my Mum told me about 'em. The pacing is completely spot-on syllable-for-syllable. I'll give you $655...uh, for the parody, not for a Weeble.
