The Lyrics

For a great version of the original song, go to youtube and type in the title. That said, I salute the humor and works of Timmy1000, who I suspect lives across the Ohio River from me in Cincinnati. ;D

(Vocal intro to the song)

Among all of my amiright icons
One guy makes me laugh - hee hee hee hee
His stuff is uproarious, his songs are so glorious
And he is from the Queen City
I will laugh loud and long at his writings
His stuff never descends to the spratty
For his shtick is a thrill - Do you come from Price Hill?
The Parodist from Cincinnati!

Oh Timmy One-Thousand's a master
His humor is lethal, can kill
He is so freaking good - Do you come from Kenwood
Or maybe from Indian Hill? (No way!)
He will gladly take on any subject
Like a smart little school kid he's bratty
And you tickle my liver here south of the river
The Parodist from Cincinnati!

Cincy is so staid and so stodgy
But wild humor here sure is our thing
Tim, you are so witty - when you were a kiddie
I'd bet you tuned in Richard King!
There are too many so-called fun writers
Who are smarmy, elite, and so catty
But this guy from my home delights my funny bone
The Parodist from Cincinnati

Oh his stuff's in our heads! Do you root for the Reds?
The Parodist from Cincinnati!
Ole!

A few notes...first, the places mentioned are suburbs of Cincinnati. Richard King was the most hilarious radio broadcaster of the 60's, 70's, and 80's, mostly on WCKY, WLW, and finally on WKRC. David Letterman cites King as one of his greatest influences. ;D

Great tribute to a great writer. I always enjoy Timmy's work!

Thanks and you got me with the Cincy title. Kenwood is close, but I never heard King as I did not move down here until the 80's. My influence came from a radio station in Detroit that used to do parody songs sung by Pro Wrestler Dick the Bruiser (someone who could talk like him). Down here we had Gary Burbank. I root for Reds and Bengals - isn't that pathetic?

About this time of the baseball year, I'd like to be out in Mannyland - ya got a good team there, Alvin.

A Classic Halloween song. Great parody of it. Why can't they make tunes like this anymore? Perhaps it's time for an updated remake...
