Original Song Title:

"The Candy Man"

Original Performer:

Sammy Davis Jr.

Parody Song Title:

"The Palin Clan"

Parody Written by:

Rigby

The Lyrics

Palin Clan, Hey Palin Clan
Everybody gather around and listen because,
It’s the Palin Clan

Who can take a sleigh ride? Putin’s head in view
Cover fish with Chocolate or skin a moose for stew
The Palin Clan, oh the Palin Clan can
The Palin Clan can with their mittens or their gloves
Like an Eskimo should

Who can build an Igloo? Wink with their left eye
Tan without the sun and watch for Commies in the sky
The Palin Clan, the Palin Clan can
The Palin Clan can with their mittens and their gloves
Like an Eskimo would

The Palin Clan skates, swims in frozen lakes, hockey moms and Joseph sixes
Talk about your childhood kisses, Bristol’s gonna be a Mrs.

Oh, who the hell is Darrow? What was Martin’s dream?
“Separate but Equal” is a case they find Supreme
The Palin Clan, oh the Palin Clan man
The Palin Clan man with their mittens and their gloves
Like an Eskimo would

The Palin Clan skates, swims in frozen lakes, hockey moms and Joseph sixes
Talk about your childhood kisses, Bristol’s gonna be a Mrs.

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, who the hell is Darrow? What was Martin’s dream?
“Separate but Equal” is a case they find Supreme
The Palin Clan, oh the Palin Clan man
The Palin Clan man they got mittens they got gloves
Like an Eskimo should
Yes, The Palin Clan can with their mittens and their gloves
Like an Eskimo should
a-Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan
Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan
Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan, a-Palin Clan

They're pale in the great North. Nice job.

Thanks Suzie and John. I'm a bit annoyed that the "Original Performer" was changed after submission. I always put the wirter in that field, in this case - "written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse". Can we get this properly credited, please? Thanks bob

This would make a good video. Three 5 pt moose antlers for you.

I wonder what kind of lines you could have gotten if you had changed "Joseph Sixes" to "Joseph Six-pack". It might have changed the rhyming completely, but would have made a great 2nd bridge, too. 554

Molchman and Agrim - thanks for your comments. Agrim - actually, I liked "Joseph Sixes" (because I had never heard the phrase "Joe Six Pack" and thought it was dumb). Also, I liked the kisses/Mrs. line so "Joseph Sixes" seemed to work and sound better. Re: the writing credit - it's not worth the time nor the effort - I was able to properly credit the writers in the comments. Thanks for your input. bob

Bob, where do you find these song writing dogs? I'll be singing this at my desk all day.

Thanks Maria - and you thought that she was just cute? bob

Some of this is pretty far-fetched, i.e., "separate but equal," but very humorous. Of course, for any real or media-contrived flaws that Governor Palin might have had, she was still the best vice presidential candidate on the November ballot.

John - I just figured that she'd be able to name "Brown v. Board of Education" but she couldn't do that - and that's how the line came to be. Haha - you would rather have her over Biden. Personally, Tina Fey would have been a better vp candidate than the eskimo. Thanks for the read later bob
