Hello Grandpa my old friend
Your pointless day is at an end.
And your stories are long and boring
You tell anecdotes worth ignoring
Your withered voice echoes around yet again
I'm in pain, the sound of grandpa

Along the road I walk alone
Quietly from the rest home
I know I'll miss him when he's gone
But if he sings me that insipid song
One more times my ears will start to bleed
Cos I hate, the sound of grandpa...

The next day I go again
To see my old and feeble friend
His room smells like Vicks once more
And there is vomit on the floor
Why does no one clean up for
This old duff, my dearest grandpa

By this time the man was frail
And his heart began to fail
And I went to see him with
All his alltime favorite things
I knew he would be there for
Not so long, my dying grandpa

Then one day in Autumn fine
I went to see him one last time
He was sat in his chair soundly sleeping
But the man was scarcely breathing
He woke up to wish me goodbye
I miss the sound of grandpa...
