The Lyrics

DKTOS - Steely Dan's "FM" Youtube HERE

Hurry that throttle, gram-pa,
Pick up the grind.
Kick on that high gear feature,
I must make time.

Bad drivers everywhere, run on,
Get out of the way, moron.
Driving so few are selfless,
And nobody's cell-less drivin' 'long.

Out in this funked up traffic,
The streets are ice.
Streets are clogged like spaghetti,
May luck be nice.

The cars are everywhere, tonight,
Along move you dudes, drive right.
Nomadics with gall,
So static they stall, (So static they stall)
F 'em!
Emphatically gall...

(Instrumental Interlude)

Drivers of clunked up Buicks,
They don't think twice.
Drivin' like Al's wife Peggy,
Can't drive precise.

You can't get here from there, tonight,
They're long on the rude, alright.
So radical, all, (so radical all - radical all)
Erratic, they crawl, (erratic, they crawl)
F 'em!
Dramatic's the sprawl.

(Instrumental Play Out)

F(antastic) M(erriment). Loved the Peggy line . She couldn't drive, couldn't cook, and the one thing she was good at, Al avoided.
Tim Hall - June 17, 2008 - Report this comment
No static at all!

Sir Guy, loved the "clunked up Buicks" line! This is clunky, CABO-WABO, and it really moves! Great write!

Pip - Just F 'em all and have FUn doing it. Thanks, Pip.

Renaldo - I may not be quite done with Al and Peg yet. I have something on the back burner - all I need is the right angle to kick it off. Thanks.

Tim - Thanks - I think that is why they invented BounceĀ®

M'Lady I too am partial to the "Buick" line. It just snapped into place during the write like lego blocks. My fondest gratitute for your kind commentary.

AG - I tuned my radio to 555 on the AM when I read your comment hoping you would be there but all I got was static. Thanks, buddy.

Alvin - Yeah I know the feeling, but knowing you I expect to see a lot more of your great titles and wonderous wit. Thanks.

Kristof - I feel honored that a writer of your great calibur has found merit in this simple parody. Thanks, buddy.

(ABC) Sneak peek: I'm not rating this yet, but you have an advantage if the title alone makes me laugh!

One of the simplest yet most clever parody title subs ever, this parody would deserve 5s on that alone. Really good, Guy., and really true.

(ABC) love the sentiment and love the title sub, Guy, and this is the second driving parody from you in 2 ABC comps isn't it? - not as funny as your usual fare but brilliantly syllable-matched as usual - 555
Claude Prez - May 14, 2009 - Report this comment
What everyone else said. Lots of good syllable matches. And who can't relate to the sentiment? Those dolts in their mail vans are particularly bad.
bobpiecheese - May 15, 2009 - Report this comment
(ABC4) Ooh, ooh! Claude! I can't relate to the sentiment! I don't have my liscence yet! Anyway, funny parody, Guy. Not as outstandingly brilliant as your usual fare, but still good in it's own right. 555!
Jeff Reuben - May 15, 2009 - Report this comment
Love the title sub, love the Married With Children reference, love the song!

(ABC) I'm back. Cute, nice references, funny lines with one hilarious line (guess which?). Revving it up to 5-5-5! Oh, dear, my security code for this entry is EFU!

Man how I wish this OS had been longer, because you had a great idea here. Unfortunately I didn't feel it really had room because you had some great rhyming, and even though it's not your thing, no major grammactical problems either, and the sub line was the best sub I think possible for this song, just didn't seem to have room for much ellaboration, I don't know, still good parody Guy.

Uh huh, for those who don't know, the last occupation that I knew that , you, Claude Prez was engaged in was that of a letter carrier for USPS - I'm glad that you, Claude must not drive like you write or I'm sure someone would have already gone postal on you - J/K ;-) - I really like your comment and I appreciate the ability to poke fun at yourself - Claude, you have always been one of good sport out here and your comments are as well written and funny as your most excellent work in parody - Thaks for the comment and I'm glad that the site has you back participating. You were missed. - Thanks for livening up my comment section.
