The Lyrics

DKTOS - Youtube OS with a Photomontage video to Steely Dan's "PEG" - Click HERE

Bud's air head sister,
And how she likes to slut it.
Two kids a dog and you,
And Al's so keen, sells shoes.
It's some wild Americana,
You wish more, Al would shove it.

A football big shot,
Ran sweeps and always lettered.
The "NO MA'AM" true men crew,
A club to drink their brew.
Un-beguiled don't understand ya,
You know they love 'ta getcha'.

Peg,
Al hates to service you,
Peg's,
Electric friend makes do,
On... the roof Al crawls,
He always falls... so... clumsy.
Such unsavored home improving.

(Instrumental Break)

Al likes the tit shots,
That "BIG-UNS" puts together.
Digs on it through 'n' through,
It sure looks good to view.
When shot with wide angle camera,
You know he loves it better.

Peg,
She never feeds her brood.
Peg,
She never cooks them food.
There's no supper calls,
Nothing at all... just... M-T,
And there's nary forkin' to be.

They will not snack or chew,
Peg,
You've got a hungry crew,
Could a ButterballĀ®
Feed them all... they're hungry...
Such a hairy chorin' duty.

(Slow Fade)

Katey Sagal was in an episode of "That 70's Show" as Hydes' mom and was...a school lunch lady! No cooking to bad cooking. You cooked up a great parody Guy.

Written in the true essence of the Dan with Married with Children.

Renaldo - I think I would have lost it had I seen "That 70's Show" episode with Katey Segal playing a lunch lady. That must have been a complete scream. Thanks for popin' in today.

Alvin - The best part is that I didn't have to make up a name for the parody. This was so freakin' obvious. I'm glad I tackled this one. There are 4 other "Peg" OS parodies on the site that I can find and one of them is yours. I need to re-visit that one and comment. As I recall I really liked it. The other four parodies have only 3 verses which is what you find on almost every lyrics website. I listened very carefully to the entire "Peg" arrangement done by SD and it indeed does have six verses exactly as this parody follows. You can't always trust the lyrics sites. I think one person writes them and everyone else copies that work. I have seen the same mistakes on about a dozen different lyrics sites on the same song. I have taken to getting the lyrics on notepad and then listening to the entire song and basically editing all the mistakes before I begin writing. There is a change-up in the OS last line of verse three that is different than the last lines of verse five and six. Verse there scans:

"It's your favorite foreign movie"

The last lines of verses five and six scan as:

"It's your very foreign movie"

I guess you can't trust the lyric writers. And it's those little subtleties that my persnicky-ness clues in on since I like to mimic the OS as much as possible and still make sense and try to show a bit of wit and humor. Thanks for your comments and for bearing with me as I explained something about this song and the lyrics that are out there on it.

Tim - That is quite the complement. It does seem to scan that way now that you have pointed that fact out to me. I don't believe it was intentional on my part but it may have really been more at subconscious. And we all know where the name of the band comes from. =;-) Thanks for a great comment.

Loved this old Sitcom...watched it. and reruns for years..Al is my kind a' guy..and being played by Ed O'Neill, who hails from my backyard of Youngstown, Ohio..helps too...good work, here

Great stuff, Guy. I much prefer Katey Sagal as the voice of Leila on Futurama, I wonder why, ha ha. In regard to AFW's comment about Ed O'Neill, years ago in Australia, when "Married With Children" was at the height of its popularity (whatever height that may have been) I remember Ed O'Neill was a guest on a live show. The compere introduced him as the guy who played the role of TED Bundy. I don't *think* the joke was intentional. Made me laugh all the more!

Farce - I grew up not too far from Youngstown over east a bit in Pa.. I always thought you were a west coaster - transplanted like me exiled to Texas perhaps? And I knew Ed O'Neill hailed from Youngstown - he was also a school teacher there. He went to NY and was the understudy on a Broadway show and of course the star left and the understudy moved up and that is how he got his start. The guy is extremely versatile. I've seen him act serious but nothing he can do can top Al Bundy. He's my kind of guy too. Thanks for enjoying this write.

Pip - HA! Ted Bundy - That's a KILLER! HA HA. And I absolutely love Leila's voice on Futurama. It is unmistakable Katey. Thanks Pip.

(SOTM) I didn't quite get it but it was great anyway.

Jason - If you ae not familiar with the long running TV sit-com "Married With Children" then it may not make much sense to you. I simply highlighted some of the things that happened regularly on that show. Thanks for the comment and sorry that you didn't get it.

I remember that sit-com

(SOTM) Ah, I used to love that show, nice of you to reprise it here.

(SOTM) Yup, this is pretty vague if you aren't familiar with the show. A good tribute, for what it's worth.

SOTM - This brings back memories - and I'm with you on Ed O'Neill being versatile, seen him in some cop roles and stuff and was watching a late night thriller called "Spartan" the other night when he came on as a big boss type and laid down the law, it's a Val Kilmer B-movie but Ed outplays him in the few scenes he has.

SOTM - Must echo all sentiments about Katey Sagal's voice work on Futurama. At first, I hated Married With Children, but it got better with age. I liked the All hates to service you/Electric friend will do couplet. Nice work. 555

(SOTM) Love Futurama, never seen Married With Children, never heard of Steely Dan. Thusly, I'm lost.

Never seen Married With Children but I was forced to listen to this song in Rock N' Roll History Class and this is a great improvement over it.

Not a "DTKOS", but "DKWTFTIA" (don't know what this is about)... sorry couldn't work this one out at all.

(SOTM) I have seen Married With Children so I felt it was a good tribute to the 'bundys' and their zany family. . .I can't say I found a whole lot of comedy in this one-it was masterfully written.

Well, I have seen MWC, and this was a good idea, Guy. I always thought Katie Sagal was kinda hot...anyway, I liked "And how she likes to slut it" and the first chorus the best (mentioning Peg's vibrator to a Steely Dan song... subtle =))

Jack - That "friend" of Peg and the bands title was done intentionally. Glad someone sharp as yourself caught that. Thanks and thanks to all who read, commented and voted.
