The Lyrics

This is the day
Of the expanding man
My shape has now changed
More than you understand

It seems like only yesterday
I answered those ads

For penis
Enlargement
In my Hotmail spam

You call me a fool
You say it's a sleazy scheme
But it's for real
My bulge is my proof, you see

So useless to ask me why
Look at this and you'll see why
I answered that spam
And now look how huge I now am

I learned to work
And flex my bone
(And) I lift weights with it too

Drink strange herb tea
All night long
That slowly grows my tool

That's what I gained from the spam in my Hotmail -
(A) Penis-enlargement deluge

They call Alabama the Crimson Tide

Call me Freakin' Huge ( Freakin' Huge... )

My back to the wall
I show off my tentpole pants
This is for me
The essence of true expanse

Baring the thing that I most love
To those of like mind
Projections
Erections
That stagger the mind

I strut and I swagger
Through these suburban streets
Make love to these women
'Til they admit defeat

I rise when my pants go down
Lover-boy's my name in town
I'm never alone
Gals call me on my bone phone

I learned to work
And flex my bone
(And) I lift weights with it too

Drink strange herb tea
All night long
That slowly grows my tool

That's what I gained from the spam in my Hotmail -
(A) Penis-enlargement deluge

They call Alabama the Crimson Tide

Call me Freakin' Huge ( Freakin' Huge... )

This is the night
Of the expanding man
If this doesn't stop
I'll need an organ-stand

I tried to enlarge my dong
Sue me if it's grown too long
This member is free
To be big as he can be

I learned to work
And flex my bone
(And) I lift weights with it too

Drink strange herb tea
All night long
That slowly grows my tool

That's what I gained from the spam in my Hotmail -
(A) Penis-enlargement deluge

They call Alabama the Crimson Tide

Call me Freakin' Huge ( Freakin' Huge... )

I got more of a sense of the song with the URL you gave...thanks. This.....'tentpole pants'......was a funny phrase. Have you really tried those things?
Adagio - December 06, 2003 - Report this comment
C'mon people...the pacing was very good...take a look.

Thanks for the recommendation, Adagio. By "tentpole pants", I am not referring to an actual style of trouser, but to the textile configuration that results in the upper front fabric of said trousers when the corpus cavernosum of the male wearing them is fully ensanguinated.
Adagio - December 06, 2003 - Report this comment
I know, Johnny! Considering the latest offerings from you, no way would I think it was a style of pants. Btw...that's a fancy way you said what you did..;D

Ohhhh, you were wondering if I'd tried those special "enlargement" offers that show up in Email spam, I see...... no, I have not. :)
The Great Karlando - December 06, 2003 - Report this comment
Yeah this was right on. Good job.

You've had quite a lot of fun parodying Mr. Johnson. Any one that makes fun of email spam is a weiner.. er... winner! 5 to you! =)
Johnny D - December 06, 2003 - Report this comment
Thank you, Diva! Mr. Johnson has been (and still is!) my faithful and obedient companion every day of my life. He goes where I tell him to go, and he always comes when I call.

5 + 5 + 5 - would 15 inches do it? ;-)
Johnny D - December 07, 2003 - Report this comment
Thank you, Meriadoc - say, is it true what they say about hobbits who have the biggest and hairiest feet ?
Paul Robinson - December 07, 2003 - Report this comment
Johnny, what can I say? You grabbed hold of an immense task but you rose to the occasion and came up large. I probably should have seen this coming but I had my own hands full at the time.
Johnny D - December 07, 2003 - Report this comment
Thank you, Paul !

By the way - among the lines I borrowed intact from the original song are...

"This is the day / Of the expanding man"

... and ...

"This is the night / Of the expanding man"

My thanks to Steely Dan for including original lines that played right into my, er, hand ......
Adagio - December 07, 2003 - Report this comment
Love it when an original part fits :)

Thank you, Adagio - so do I.

Your "obedient companion"? I'm heard of "master of your domain," but I find that to be a little far-fetched. But a great parody, Johnny D... Or is that Iggy P?
Johnny D - December 08, 2003 - Report this comment
Thanks MP...... what else does MP stand for, by the way?
Michael Pacholek - December 08, 2003 - Report this comment
Member of Parliament? Well, as an American citizen, I'm ineligible -- although if Bill Clinton's parents had left Arkansas and crossed the border before he was born, he might have grown up to be sent to Ottawa as a Mem... It's OK, I like the guy, so it's all right for me to tell jokes about him. And I thought we weren't allowed to post sex-themed stuff anymore! Rats, I had a good one planned for Michael Jackson: "Oh Sickie, it's a crime, it's a crime that blows my mind! Hey Sickie! Hey Sickie!"

I've always liked this song... thought that it was strange, though... and always thought of certain THINGS while hearing "This is the night of the expanding man." Jeez. Glad I'm not the only one, and glad that you parodied it!

Thanks MP - Chucky authorized the posting of this parody before the new policy went into effect, so it has been "grandfathered"...

Thanks Mari - yeah, I also thought "expanding man" was a weird lyric in Steely Dan's original song...thanks for the positive feedback.

New policy? What? How come no one told me? Johnny, what are we gonna DO? ;-)
