salad topped with thousand island
sparkling glass of wine
made sure i got their favorite brand
this surely is a treat
i feel rising pride
the setting's pretty
but there's problems with the meat

amid the ruins
of the meal right here
the angry crowd starts throwing things
dinner companions
start to fight and shove
and then this guy lets his plate fly
they start to simmer
fine cuisine, this ain't
flung on the wall 'cross the room
there goes my dinner

i feel appalled
i thought this meal would be like heaven
but the ham had mold
all my guests went back home
wish it was better
i guess the ham was old
took it right back to the butcher
why did he waste my time
this was squandering
