The Lyrics

This one will be recorded after I have caught up on re-recordings to the current parodies I'm writing.
No Nada, Shed a tear for my life as I tell you my biggest flaw
Cash flow has put a hault to my singing and I'm sure to lose my home
No Nada, I can hear you all sighing, yes this tune is getting old
Dang man, we are all here and we're broke but we don't sing it in our song

The gig is up, the booze ran out
Bill collectors found me
I'm underpaid and never laid
I owe my whole county
Never meant to live this way
Guess this means I'll have to pay
Sell my frying pans

No Nada, I'm in fear Uncle Sam just took a big slice of my bread
Tax man said 'Pay me now or face time' and yes of course they'll take my bed
This drama they can't tell I'm a tryin', unprepared and lost my phone
Boss man has gotta frown as I wallow 'cause he says I don't belong

The gig is up, my ruse is out
The debt dude's have charged me
Been underpaid and kinda played
Deceived and I'm angry
Never mind my Tooth Decay
This whole story's a cliche
of a taunted man

Grand lama, I'm unclear of my rights I've reached my final straw
Aw man, can't you see they are hallow and their methods are so wrong

The jig is up, My shoes are out
Sold it and my body
Still underpaid and quite dismayed
Now forced to be raunchy
Eating Ramen every day
Can't afford to part Valet
I'm a daunted man

A Daunted maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAaaAn

I can't afford it-oh no

No Flow!

no no no no

Ain't no shame to be broke. See, when you're from the ghetto, you learn about being broke. Chop up some SPAM and put it in that ramen! Get some bologna and fry it up- oh wait...you sold your frying pans...

Can't even afford a recording for this one yet? lol, Just messing with you David. Great one, One of your best, but I may say this with some bias since Styx is one of my favorite bands.

Shameless Plug Alert! Need Cash, I'll hock it! http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/thepretenders12.shtml
But enough about me. The OS lines like "oh mama I'm in fear..." are tough to pace, but you hit them pretty well. I like. 555

Another song I'm going to have to add to one of my stations once recorded.

Gotta agree with Matty, Dave...easily one of your best. Funny, well-constructed, clever use of language, nice rhymes and subs...gee, it's got the lot! 555+++

Sorry I don't know the ENTIRE song, bub...rhythm-wise, I only know how the "Oh, mama" verses and the first four lines of the chorus go. Still, nice one! I just don't get how the dude I keep arguing with on various topics is the same guy who keeps coming up with funny stuff like this! (He had enough brains to see eye-to-eye on the "global warming" subject, though; see: the parody, "I'm A Denier")

(Artistry) I feel like that sometimes. But you're in a much worse situation. Here, have...ah crud, Rex beat me to the $555 joke.

(SOTM) Heh...this was another one of those OSes that I've known for a long while but had no idea what it was called! Anyway, I think this was one of your best, BAD. Very clever.

(SOTM) very nicely done BADave - liked the found me/county couplet, and wow they took your bed, those bastards! and if I had to eat ramen every day, I'd be lobbying Grand Lama too - not that it ever helps - one of your best, dave - 555
Jeff Reuben - July 30, 2007 - Report this comment

Styx is one of my favorite bands, and this song won the Styx round thus you know I have to love it, but seriously Dave for your old writes (Pre-Epic 40) this has to be your best, and still is an amazing parody to an equally amazing tune. And I'm STILL waiting for this to become a recording.

I would LOVE to record it, I'm having a heck of a time finding backing tracks for certain songs you'd think would be easy (Others include Priority, I Think I'm Sterilized and of course Bizarre Black Magic all of which are to real big hit songs--don't know why they aren't out there among the companies and groups I work with)

(ABC4U)

Yeah and especially with the elevator ride that the gasoline prices are taking I can't even afford to pay attention anymore. I was watching a sports special on TV and they kept talking about a quarter back. I emailed them and asked how I could get my refund. Seems that everday now is Mother's day - I pay this mother and then that mother... I'm glad the 555 I'm giving you does not have a dollar sign in front of it. And what idiot would run for president and say that he is going to raise taxes - oh yeah that will really help.

BOHICA!

I could have sworn I commented here... maybe we just talked about this parody. Anyway, I liked this much better this time around - it fits TOS really well. The last two line verse really rang home. Even though I'm underpaid to the tune of about 3400$ at the moment (what I went off on that Thursday in Tampa has only gotten worse since then), I'm not worried about it now. Placing liens on properties has a way of solving money issues - or making the company go out of business. 555
