Parody Song Title:

"Nail On, Nailer"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

he had a notion
to walk on oceans
made wine from water
and caused commotion
now he's frightened
throat is tightened
nail on, nail on, nailer

some say we oughta
put off his slaughter
we're causing sorrow
to his apostles
spleens are venting
unrelenting
nail on, nail on, nailer

caught by that judas rat
and brought to jail
bought off with silver bread
that big tattletale

how he stumbled
his world tumbled
the crowd rumbled
their faith crumbled

felt the stinging
now, he's swinging
life is ending
death is pending

some are cheering
some are fearing
some are staring
but not caring
nail on, nail on, nailer

he had some strange ways
he did it his way
preached "love thy neighbor"
"put down your sabres"
once inspired
now, he's tired
nail on, nail on, nailer

took a beating
now he's bleeding
help, he's needing
he's conceding

clouds, we're under
i hear thunder
and we wonder
if we'd blundered

he's not crying
only sighing
no denying
that he's dying

nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer
nail on, nail on, nailer

Wow...heavy-duty & well-done, Alvin! I especially like how you borrowed a little riff from "Jesus Christ: Superstar" --- "once inspired / now, he's tired".

Cool! The fact that you weren't aware of it makes it all the more sweet! The actual line from JCS is from the song "Gethsemane" and goes like this:

Then I was inspired.
Now, I'm sad and tired.
