The Lyrics

This anthem to nothingness was released by the anti-Beatles in a parallel anti-universe in the year 9691
When I find myself in times of uplift
Octomommy comes to me
Speaking words of torpor .. anomie
And in my hour of outreach
She is stifling my community
Speaking words of malaise, anomie

Anomie, anomie, anomie, anomie
Whisper words of stupor, anomie

And when the solipsistic people
Drifting in the world agree
The world is lacking answers, anomie
And though they may seek purpose
There is still a chance that it will cease
There will be inertia, anomie

Anomie, anomie, anomie, ennui
Yeah, there will be inertia, anomie
Anomie, ennui, ennui, anomie
Listless words of cynics, anomie

Ennui, anomie, ennui, yeah, anomie
Whisper words of stasis, anomie

And when the dawn is breaking
They have stilled the light that shined in me
Slide into miasma, anomie
I wake up to the sounds of stupor
Octomommy benumbs me
Speaking words of torpor, anomie

Let it be anomie, anomie, ennui
Yeah, there will be no answers, anomie
Anomie, ennui, ennui, anomie
Yeah, there will be no standards, anomie
Let it be anomie, anomie let it be
Listless words of cynics, anomie

Anti-Beatles in an anti-universe? So... the Mirror Universe, where President Hillary Clinton is a Republican, House Majority Whip Donald Trump is a Democrat, and the Democrats are trying to override her veto on their border-closing bill that would set up claymores and barbed wire all along the Canadian border to try to stem a tide of Republican-voting illegal aliens flooding over the border from Quebec?

I've basically gotten completely disoriented by the political situation in the Confederated Colonies of Vespucciland. But then again I just pulled this parallel universe thing out of my descending colon a mere 40 hours ago, so the situation would be in a state of flux, wouldn't it? ...... Al I know is that things went sour a few years ago when they started accusing the first Irish Catholic President Barry O' Bamaugh of being anti-Vespuccian and having dual loyalties to the Pope. And then they started that smear that he wasn't born in Ireland at all, that he was actually born in a working class part of Boston, and that his grandfather was actually a WASP. It's too complicated

But if we can just get back to the counter-Beatles for a second. One of the reasons Lenton John wrote "Anomie" was so that the Rad Four could recover their "Four Nihilistic Lads" image that was so badly tarnished by their inspirational albums "Sgt Pepper's Salvation Army Band", "The Glorious Mystery Tour", and "The Road To The Abbey" And quite frankly, I think they succeeded

I heard it was because Courtney Paul was disconsolate over the re-unification of the anti-Beatles after Lenton John's disastrous stint with his ultra rightwing girlfriend Yuriko Tojo and the group "The Plastic Tojo Band"
