Song Parodies -> "Avian Flu"

Original Song Title:

"Close to You"

Original Performer:

The Carpenters

Parody Song Title:

"Avian Flu"

Parody Written by:

NoNosedDog

The Lyrics

Why do birds suddenly appear
Very ill around here?
Its likely, that it could be
Avian 'Flu

Why do birds fall down from the sky
On my lawn, where they die?
Its likely, that it could be
Avian 'Flu

On the day that it was born 2 regular germs got together
And decided to mutate into a virulent strain of 'flu
Then some birds took it up in the air
And transferred it to some humans via the medium of poo

That is why all the birds in town
Lie there dead on the ground
Its likely, that it could be
Avian 'Flu

Waaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaah Avian 'Flu
Waaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaah Avian 'Flu

Some definite pacing problems with the middle 8 ("on the day..."), but a very funny concept.

great connection of OS to subject matter using the OS's lines, no-nosed-dog (there's gotta be a story to THAT name) - 555

Duly noted.. It was kind of deliberate as I thought it sounded funnier when you try and get all the words in..!

An heroic attempt to bend some pretty big words! And I agree with NoNoseDog - singing around those bends and crunches makes it relly funny. Thanks!

Agreed with the others--this is very funny but the pacing stumbles in the middle eight. I'd try to improve the pacing, I think it could be done and be at least as funny!

Clever concept. Pacing, as noted.

Funny stuff, Dog. I see what you were trying to do in the middle 8, so I'll only dock ya 1 point for pacing. Here's a tip; if you plan to deliberately mess with the pacing for comic effect, let people know in the preamble, and they'll be less harsh on you. 455

Cheers all!! I'll ensure I explain any messing in the future.. Gotta be a first for a dog!

That was funny! A bit of bad pacing in the middle, but I love the part: "Why do birds fall down from the sky, On my lawn, where they die?" I was laughing myself asleep last night over it.
