The Lyrics

Inspired by an off the cuff comment I made to my friend on SAT day. The spiritual successor to my cult hit "Testing S.A.T."
Time is up, but I'm...not done!
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!
I answered twenty but ...I got one
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!

Took two in English and then one in Math
Guess that I passed none
Now I'll have to face my teacher's wrath
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the

Five blank circles have me...outdone!
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!
I lost my future, screwed in the long run
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!

Can't go to college and and it feels so bad
Guess my race is run
Just because I can't subtract or add
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the

I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the test won!
I took the test and the

Having just completed a course at a local college and anxiously awaiting my grade, I can identify with this one, which made me laugh my class off. Very funny!

Charlie, Been about 37 years since I took the SAT. Think I got about 1200+. Here's what I think about it now...'So What'? Congratulations, you did pass the parody writing part of the exam. 5's

Very good, but I had to dock you a point for doing the Clash's version instead of Bobby Fuller's, one of the greatest rock and roll recordings of all time.
Meriadoc - June 14, 2004 - Report this comment
Well, at least you can spell and puctuate. That's worth fives!
Melhi - June 14, 2004 - Report this comment
Great job!

Geez, I didn't even NOTICE he didn't use Bobby Fuller's version. I don't know if I would have docked the score, but I would have personally been aghast. Charlie I guess you must be a bit younger than I...(54) - (Yeah, like who isn't !)
Charlie Decker - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Sorry, guys. I'm a bit younger than you, Paul (like 37 years younger). Also, I'd like to point out thtat the song is stretching the truth a little. I did well on the S.A.T, it's just that at the school I go to (a N.Y.C. private prep school), "doing well" is not quite good enough. Oh, well. Hooray for the Clash!
Serafina - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Very creative! It's been almost 12 years since I took the SAT; I did pretty well. Anyway, 5-5-5 is what I vote on this.
Michael Pacholek - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Uh, Merry... "At least you can spell and puctuate"? Or are you using a word that walks the censor's line here?
Meriadoc - June 15, 2004 - Report this comment
Egads! A plot! Those d*mned liberals stole my 'n' while my back was turned! ;-)

Charlie - GEEZ-SUS! 17, huh? Damn, that means you were born roughly around 1987, TWENTY YEARS AFTER I WAS FREAKING SEVENTEEN!!! OH...where in the hell are my orthopedic shoes?
Jake A Ralphing (Luke Brattoni) - June 16, 2004 - Report this comment
Oooh, what month were you born, Charles?
Charlie Decker - June 16, 2004 - Report this comment
December 1986. Year of the Tiger, baby!
Michael Pacholek - June 16, 2004 - Report this comment
Apparently we stole Merry's "A," too.
Charlie Decker - June 18, 2004 - Report this comment
I got the scores of the SAT II (the 2 tests that inspired this song) today. I really got the better of the Writing section. However, I'll give the Math IIC the victory by TKO.

(ABCs) Dang, I'm a July 1987 Rabbit. I can relate well with this one, but it was too short for a vote in the round. 5-4-4
Charlie Decker - June 24, 2004 - Report this comment
Aww, raspberries :-(
Melhi - June 24, 2004 - Report this comment
abc -- I really liked this one and you were such a close second I'd say you were a half-a-hair-breadth's close for me in the contest. Top notch!
John Jenkins - June 25, 2004 - Report this comment
Very good parody. Like everybody else, I am not surprise that you did well on the Writing section and I suspect that your Math score was more than satisfactory.
Meriadoc - June 26, 2004 - Report this comment
(ABC) Spell and puctuante. Pucktuant. punkschew.... oh fliibbertygibbit! It was a good parody, even tho' I failed the test. ;-)

Hey - ever notice that the "Place Your Vote" form looks a lot like a standardized test? I used a #2 pencil and my answers are: E, E, E.
