The Lyrics

400 down, the quest for 500 begins with me brushing up on my Shakespeare. Of course, if Johnny D gets ahold of that line, God only knows what depravity could result. Then again, the Bard knew a thing or two about depravity. Really, was Iago's anger at Othello solely professional? Or was he angry that the man who held his future had the girl? Add on the fact that Othello was a "brother," and you got one angry Venetian. And soon many more.
Desdemona, why don't you come to your senses?
You've been living in Venice for so long now.
You're a cute one, and your husband's Othello.
But I'm here to say "Hello!" and take you somehow.

Don't you know I'm king of slimin' boys? I'll bleed you when I'm able.
A fiend of hearts am I, you sure can bet.
Now it seems to me the fine things are diverted from my table.
But I've got a plan to see that those I get.

Desdemona, I'm wed to Emilia.
I'd still like to feel ya up and take you home.
Got freedom to make Othello jealous.
I'm ever so zealous to get you all alone.

Don't you think I know about Cassio?
I told your man that's where you go.
It's hard to keep his knighthood rage at bay.
We're losing all these guys we know.
Ain't funny how Shakespeare guys go
away?

Desdemona, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down here from Venice, away from the hate.
There's hatred raining, Othello's doubts are of you.
You'd better see it's me who loves you.
(See it's him who loves you.)
You'd better see it's me who loves you
before it's too...
late.

Holy Smoke, Mr. Pacholek! I don't think I've ever really commented on your work before...(I steer clear of most things political...and I'm really not sure why else...)...but I do love my Shakespere...and this is FABulous! 555! Now...if you love me...and you know you do...you'll do Hamlet next...; )

Excellent!! You ought to write more of these non-political, non-sports parodies. 5's

Ditto Adagio's comment! Really liked this one, as Othello is my favorite Shakespeare play. Loved the line: "Ain't funny how Shakespeare guys go away?"

I'm going to have to echo everyone else here. Nicely done!

Very clever! I once played Desdemona in a dating game spoof in high school... with all the famous jilted lovers of Shakespeare. This brought me back!

Arwen: To do Hamlet, or not to do Hamlet, that is the question... Johnny: Glad to see you got your mind out of the gutter thither. Adagio: I write plenty. I just write more of the others. Leah: Too bad people rarely get "brought back" in Shakespeare, except Hamlet Sr. and Banquo.

Very good job of maintaining the melancholy mood of Shakespeare's tragedy and of the original song. Except for one line, but what else can you rhyme with Emilia?

I'm going to hold my breath until you Hamlet, Mister. (Or maybe I won't...but it's really easy to tell you that I am...)

Even though I spelled "Shakespeare" wrong in my first post...(what the hell??? I swear it was a typo...I have a degree in English...if there is anything I know how to spell...it SHOULD be Shakespeare...)...I am still holding my breath for that Hamlet ditty.

Congrats on 400, Michaelopedia. This is excellent. Moor great lines than you can shake a spear at.
