The Lyrics

Isn't "pontificating" a great word? And isn't it amazing how so many great songs don't have to be changed all that much to describe Bush 43? Or should I say, Bush 33?
(instrumental opening)

Red-State girls seem to find out early
wearing "Daisy Dukes" will make men smile.
Just hitch 'em up and you won't have to worry.
You'll mess with minds so spaced, in redneck style.

Late at night, talk-show hosts go so funny.
I guess celebrity does come with a price.
And it breaks her heart to think George Bush's Sonny
could have fallen so far after "winning" twice.

So she tells herself he'll launch another comeback
and comfort this old land that's feeling down.
But she knows that he'll always be a dumb slack.
He is living with his cheating, he's a clown.

He can't hide, we're eyein' lies.
And his smile, it no longer buys.
I thought by now, he'd reali-i-ize
every time that he speaks, we're eyein' lies.

(instrumental break)

On the Blue-State side, this liberal boy is waiting
with fiery eyes and dreams no Bush can steal.
He watches C-SPAN, Bush pontificating.
It's the source of all that laughter that I feel.

I'm rushing to the fridge, I get a bottle.
I whisper, "Three more years, that's just a while."
We'll be free of Bush swagger and Cheney waddle.
They'll pull away, they'll leave us, and we'll smile.

He can't hide, we're eyein' lies.
And his smile, it no longer buys.
I thought by now, he'd reali-i-ize
every time that he speaks, we're eyein' lies.

(instrumental break)

He's messed up, his policy's a wrong one.
He stares out at the stars up in the sky.
A lame-duck term, it's gonna be a long one.
He draws the shade and hangs his head to cry.

He wonders how it ever got this crazy.
His Dad can't bail him out like back in school.
Did he get tired? No way, he's just damn lazy.
He's so far-gone, the world knows he's a fool.

My oh my, your brother Jeb did arrange things.
You set it up so well, so carefully.
Ain't it funny how each new lie cannot change things.
You're still the same old bum you used to be.

You can't hide, we're eyein' lies.
And your smile, it no longer buys.
I thought by now, you'd reali-i-ize
every time that you speak, we're eyein' lies.
Every time that you speak, we're eyein' lies.
Georgie, dumb and weak, we're eyein' lies.

(instrumental close)

Not bad, Michael. Not as good as "Lame Duck", but not bad :D (j/k) Seriously, one of my favorite OS and you did a good job of using it to effect. I think "Eyein' Lies" was a perfect spoonerism! I also liked "His Dad can't bail him out like back in school." 555

Stray Punch beat me to the pooch.... I mean, Pray Stooch peat me to the bunch.... re spoonerizing OS title to parody. Another Five-worthy bash.

Isn't it impressive how obsessed liars like Pacholek are with trashing honest men like Bush? But then, to be a leftard like Pacholek, you have to love mass murderers, such as Saddam, and hate the righteous men who punish them, such as Bush.

Very clever parody, 555s

Not your best, but better than anything Bush has done.

Let's see, should I let the comments by a fascist maniac get to me, or should I let Stray Pooch's words answer them? Hmmmm, tough choice. Anybody who thinks Bush is honest and that we liberals support mass murderers (rest in hell, Slobodan Milosevic) needs to have his head examined. And the doctors will find nothing there.
