The Lyrics

It's been 1000 days since Congress has passed a budget, mainly due to the Senate's unwillingness to act. Meanwhile, the federal government has been running on omnibus bills and continuing resolutions.
Now it's been one thousand days
The budget has been delayed
Senators won't play their hand
They'll never cut their spending in our no-budget land
Times are hard, but elites still thrive
Rest of us still have to economize

We still have no budget
We ain't got no budget
Nothing's cheap, we understand
Here in the U-S-A, we are a no-budget land

Excuse my car, it's junkyard-bound
But at least it's paid for, and it gets me around
Filling my gas tank is giving me pain
Price was reduced paying cash, so I shouldn't complain
We've got oil reserves, so we could drill for more
But permits are rare, if you're drilling offshore

We still have no budget
Senator Reid
We ain't got no budget
Accuse me of greed
We still have no budget
Here in the U-S-A we are a no-budget land

I'm shopping at Walmart and low discount stores
This stuff made in China's what we're paying for
Stimulus bill, it all went to waste
But the 'Pubs and 'Crats still have their expensive tastes
Some people will say that I'm doing quite well
But there's no way I could live like Barry and 'Chelle

No budget, over one thousand days
Since we've had a budget, there's no means or ways
The C-P-I's rising, can't find no escape
I used to drink fine wine, but now I settle for grapes

We still have no budget
What did you say?
We ain't got no budget
I thought you said that
We still have no budget
Here in the U-S-A, we are a no-budget land
We ain't got no budget
No budget
No budget

Art needs cash, Harry knows it
He wants bucks for cowboy poets
Millionaires are folks to be taxed
The Congress wants some more dough, won't let them relax
Money's loose, the value's not sound
The Fed'ral Reserve's gonna print one more round

We still have no budget
What did you say?
We ain't got no budget
I thought you said that
We still have no budget
Here in the U-S-A, we are a no-budget land
I'm on a low budget
Say it again
No budget
One more time
No budget

The folks in DC, they get me upset
They keep pushing up the national debt
I think some cash is still mine, at least some remains
But I wish I could make some capital gains
Senators will not take a stand
Here in the U-S-A, we are a no-budget land
We still have no budget
By now, you all know
We ain't got no budget
We ain't got no budget

Steve - It's deja-vu all over again. The Senate couldn't even pass a budget when the Democrats had a 60-40 super majority AND control of the House and White House. But I digress...good job here. ;D

5 years ago Nanci Pelosi said the new Congress would initiate needed reforms then she publicly did an about face. Democrat? No, hypocrite! Also, some GOP members recently used our tax money on a $50,000+ tab at a sleaze joint that features shows with lesbian S & M acts. The stupid unnecessary Iraq war cost $800 billion (money cost alone). In the 90s the Gingrich/Grinch - led Congress had to do without some personal luxuries like chauffers and valet -WAH!- due to Clinton vetoing their draconian budget cuts, resultng in "government shutdowns". His victory in this tug-of-war and his 1996 reelection led to Congress impeaching Clinton 2 years later in the Screwinsky scandal as an attempt at revenge. Anyway, I don't buy the budget cut rap. There's plenty of dough to go around. Gotta love them Kinks!

Ribber - Thanks. It's amazing what our fearless leaders can do - or not do - when they try. Baby - I think you've digressed far more than Ribber did. I have to disagree about the Skrewinsky scandal. Clinton brought that on himself by sticking Little Willie where it shouldn't have gone, and then lying under oath. That $800 billion war cost just a little bit more than Barry's "stimulus", which didn't do [bleep] for the economy.

Hi SteveK. Yes you can say Slick Willie lied under oath, but if you nail him for that you'd better nail everyone in DC - Democrap, Republic*nt, Windy Indy, all of them. A few years ago on TV Gingrich himself fessed up to his own adultery actions during Clinton's Skrewinsky scandal and he was about to man a speech podium at the 700 Club HQ. It was in 2008 - a decade past. Alright I agree Barry's stimulus ain't been enough. The post-Cold War economic slide has been neglected by everyone in the White House during the past 2 decades. Mr. O needs to put more elbow grease into it but at least he's done something and he has recognized there's trouble in Paradise. It would be a lot easier load for all if we didn't wage that $800 billion Iraq war which was based on a lie and a Photoshop job (I have worked with Photoshop in college and on the job. The technology has gotten so good it's downright scary). $800 billion is a LOT of moolah. We should've used it for better things. The recent Iraq War is another Vietnam, it should never have been fought.

Damn right photoshop has gotten so good it's scary, just look at Obasturds birth certificate. (actually, it's a pretty pedestrian fake. Average technogeeks can spot the layers)

Hi I'mabirther/pepper ...,I've seen Prez O's birth certificate too. In the 60s they were very cheap and primitive and they varied from state to state. Maybe they still do. The Hawaiian form is greenish and his father's race is listed as "African", not Black African or Arabic or whatever else. My Ohio certificate looks like a smudgy piece of carbon paper and my parents' races are listed as just "white" even though I do have some non-white lineage in my family tree. So anything goes. Still, seeing the new cinematic technology of "Forrest Gump" and working with PhotoShop has scared the Kool-Aid out of me at times. Is it live or is it Memorex?

Baby, say that the Iraq war was based on a lie. I assume you mean GWBush saying that Saddam had WMD. If so, please consider what Clinton's secretary of state M. Albright said in 1998 (about 3 years *before* Bush took office). "No one has done what Saddam Hussein has done, or is thinking of doing. He is producing weapons of mass destruction, and he is qualitatively and quantitatively different from other dictators." If it was a lie, then both administrations and both parties were complicit. But then, once again, this digresses a long way from this parody.
Baby's Got a Kinky Daddy - February 03, 2012 - Report this comment
Hi Steve K: you made a very good insightful observation. In 1998 M. Albright and co. came to my college campus for a "pre-pro-war" rally and the reception they were given was stark and negative. That same year Clinton signed a mandate declaring that Saddam must go. He also launched Operation Desert Fox - one week of nonstop air and sea attacks on Iraq. Bear in mind his impeachment sex scandal had just erupted and you gotta show everyone you're tough, right? I guess that's the "Slick" in his nickname. Nevertheless, all the recent administrations and both major parties have their hands dirty. One time Saddam was pursuing WMD but when that work was halted is a question of debate. They said Gadhafi unveiled his WMD stache in 2003 and then last year the media claimed he was using VX on Libyan rebels. So who's telling the truth, who's telling 1/2 truths and who's telling fibs? It gets harder to tell all the time. I don't mean to keep on disgressing so I'll stop. Have a good evening : )
