The Lyrics

The sordid story of a doctor who contracts the world's deadliest disease.
I was travelin' Nigeria a week ago
And I was going to the airport to board my flight to Angola
G-O-L-A -gola
When I got real dizzy and I felt pretty ill
And I thought it was flu but it wasn't, it was Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola

Well I'm not the world's most paranoid doc
But when I tried to get up it nearly cleaned my clock, oh Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
And I know my flu, but I really don't get
Why I bled out my eyes all over the jet, it's Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola

Well I sweated all day and coughed all night
Under a third-world firelight
The doctor bent down, and she got on her knee
And she said "You ain't gonna live too long, you see"
I'm not one of Earth's real sick-l-y folks
But my skin it bleeds every time the nurse pokes it, Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola

I coughed up my lungs
I bled out my rear
And bled out my ear
My skin's sloughing away
Then I looked at the color of my pee

Well I'm not goin' home to the USA
'Cause for the rest of my life, I know I'm gonna stay with Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
First World is Third World and Third World is First
At this point I don't care, 'cause I'm feeling the worst with Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola

Well I left home just a month ago
And I was hopin' to go back, you know
But I've got Ebola circulating inside
And it's taking my life and it's killing my pride
Now I'm going to die and so I bid you farewell
While I stew in my viral personal hell with Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola
Bo-bo-bo-Ebola

I know it wasn't meant to be funny (at least I hope not) but I gave all fives anyway because it was well-written. And totally horrifying. Well done.

You are one sick puppy. 555.

Third World is First and vice-versa in this age of jet travel and infrastructure decay. The emblematic disease of our age, as everything we know falls apart. A scary song, indeed.

I think you are one sick person with absolutely no capacity for compassion, to be so self-centered to write a song, hiding it loosely behind the word 'Parody', and making fun of Ebola symptoms and patients in the world. Because of Ebola hitting Texas, my daughter, who has CHF, was told to 'take her chances' in Houston last night because Ebola was a risk at the hospital by Katy. Yes, you may say, 'hey dumb woman, this is a satire, a parody, you are reacting ignorantly!' Well, then say that to my daughter's 77 year-old Grandmother who started bawling when she heard this sick sick (most of all sick timing) song played on the 'untouchable' 'Imus in the Morning' show! You are profiting off of other's tragedies...may God help your soul. (and I am looking for ways to get this song off any type of 'air time') NOT FUNNY! NOT A PARODY! NOT HILARIOUS! Maybe to a 10 year old in rebellion to authority; NOT TO FAMILIES, PATIENTS, EXPOSED HEALTH CARE WORKERS, SOLDIERS, the ELDERLY; not funny....I believe it makes fun of 'bipolar people' as well. Many take their own lives every single day. You must be one uninformed sob with no conscience. I give up. Who can go against Wall Street and the 'RANCH's FAMILY' behind their 'FACADE' of helping others 'find themselves'? I read every single letter of those who were 'helped by Imus'....not one comment has been made on the Ebola Blues Song. You need to visit Liberia, like TODAY.

I wholeheartedly agree with above that this is rubbish. Ebola could mutate and the American government is not doing enough to stop the spread of the disease. Hospital nurses are being shafted with thirty minute training lessons with less advanced hazard suits than those of the CDC. And that idiot Dr. Gupta is a fraud with his claims of superior quality hospital containment. Duncan died and now two are infected even with strict protocols. All flights from west africa should be banned and all air traffic monitored. No one should be admitted to america. Just imagine if this turns airborn. An epidemic of biblical proportions. It is so wrong to make false reassurances to the hospital staff, first responders, families of the infected, and the public in any nation affected. Ebola kills fifty to sixty percent of its victims. Those infected in africa are now staying home to die and are infecting more people including those that travel abroad. This parody is beyond poor taste.
