------------------------------ I would love to read your comments about your favorite pies or even your favorite diner ,restaurant , or cafe. My favorite pies are cherry pie , key lime pie and coconut cream pie. My favorite cafe is The City Cafe founded in 1931 City Cafe at 408 Main Avenue Northport , Alabama 35476. If you are down in this area sometimes check it out. You have to get there early for both breakfast and lunch because there are so many people who go there to eat. Excellent down home country cooking. You won't find food at this price (currently at time of this writing on October 4 2014 Breakfast $4 dollars for eggs and meat and lunch $6 or $7 dollars for meat and 3 vegetables bread and a drink ) or this good at a fast food restaurant. Plus the service is great and you get a lot more food for your money than at a fast food restaurant and it's been there since 1931 Hours are from 4:00 a.m to 3:30 p. m Monday through Friday. The cafe seats about 165 diners and at peak times there is usually a line out the door and onto the sidewalk. Turnover though is pretty quick and if you want to you can usually find a seat at the counter if there aren't any tables available.
