The Lyrics

My wife and I are major fans of Rowan Atkinson, especially in his role as The Blackadder! I got the idea for this parody from comments on Phil Alexander's parody "Mr. Bean", who is another hilarious Rowan Atkinson character. So, I extend my thanks to both Phil Alexander and to sloatead for giving me the inspiration to write this parody - thank you both.
BASTARD ED !

That hor-rid lit-tle man!
All the time he's gonna scheme and plan
The Blackadder
( Blackadder! )

That hor-rid lit-tle man!
Stu-pid Baldrick tries to be his man
The Blackadder
( Blackadder! )

Back in England, way back about,
Four hundred odd years, yeah
( yeah, 'bout there )
That's when Edmund Blackadder would swagger and sneer, yeah yeah

He's always out, to brown-nose Queenie
And all of his buddies, they sure are weenies!

Blade went wrong - chopped Lord Farrow's head -
Now the Lord's wife is back,
But he's dead thanks to Ed......

STUPID ED !

That hor-rid lit-tle man!
All the time he's gonna scheme and plan
The Blackadder
( Blackadder! )

He keeps payin' all these visits to the Queen, yeah
( What's that Edmund up to? )

He goes to her court
Again and again and again and again, yeah

Sure he is there, to see that woman
She's a nutcase for sure, but he just keeps on comin'

Ed formed a crew - then they got their gear packed -
Sailed off and then drank
Their piss on the trip back......

BASTARD ED !

That hor-rid lit-tle man!
All the time he's gonna scheme and plan
The Blackadder
( Blackadder! )
( Ha ha ha ha ha ha, low down dirty! )

( brief instrumental )

STUPID ED !

That hor-rid lit-tle man!

Stupid Edmund, bastard Edmund always tell lies!
( Blackadder! )

That hor-rid lit-tle man!

He's just a low down, dirty bastard!
( Blackadder! )

That hor-rid lit-tle man!

( Black-add-add, Black-add-add, Black-add-add, dirty bastard Blackadder! )

( repeat and fade )

I have swiss cheese memory with your lyrics on anything but the chorus on this song at this point. The poetry is nice though. That's all it can be is a poem if you can't hum the tune in your head when you read it.

I can't stand Rowan Atkinson. What's next, "The Wrecks of the Edmund Blackadder"?
Phil Alexander - January 12, 2004 - Report this comment
I guess this means I'm going to have to find a copy of "Backstabbers" somewhere...

Michael - I had considered doing something like "The of the Edmund Blackadder", but I've still never heard the original, and couldn't think what the should be. Possibly "Cheek"...
