Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

You could call it Did Re-Post Again. I cleaned up some repetative rhyming patterns to make it a better candidate for SOTM

As I'm driving down the street
See oil spilling out in sheets
And my tailpipe made a smokescreen, vision's gone
My mechanic just went on
A list of problems way too long
My only car and no money, my sad song
His asked of me for a full reconstruction
Said not now, cause of pay reduction
Wheels still spin and it gets me around
Just fix the problems today
Runs like yesterday
Then I'll take it back home and pray

It's not re-tooled again!

New day, I drove along
My luck had come undone
My car liberated from the floor, no more
My shoes scraping street, make flames
Like history, stone aged
Like a Flintstone, feet just pushed my car til scored
I took it back hoped for some restitution
Mechanic said it needs new solutions
Won't you learn needs full fix all around
Just weld my floorboard to stay
No cash I did convey
As I drove it seems so cliché

Car got re-tooled again!
Oh no!

I took myself and some friends for a ride
It so happened we returned back alive
I guess no more problems I smile, shift to high
You know that spells trouble disguised, gonna die

Do I?

I'm racing down the street
Car's looking different to me
Now my bumpers just detached, flew right by
And my tire on the left,
Is now passing on the right
I crashed into a tree, stayed there overnight
Woke up in a medical institution
Said give thanks organ contributions
My body parts look changed all around
Doc said this is not my day
Transplants special way
Now as I walk on hooves, I say

I got re-tooled again!
Got re-tooled again!
No, no!

Neighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ran a race course
Hooves never lost....

The parody so nice, he did it twice. It got re-tooled again! Nice work and nice lines!

SOTM: Very good work! Not my favorite Who song, but you made it awesome!
Matthias - February 16, 2010 - Report this comment
Unlike Abbott this IS my favorite Who song just something about it I always liked... This parody was boss! (Same as the old boss!)

"Tooling" my thanks to you, Abbott & Matthias!!

(SOTM) Looks like your car will have to be re-tooled to accomodate your modified body. Oh the irony (I think, my understanding of irony only extends as far as what isn't irony)! $555 for a new car!

Ironic thanks to you, bobpie!!!

If you one day run into enough money to buy a reliable German car you'll have to write a follow up called "Won't be towed again"...

"Punch buggy", got it! And thanks, Peter!

SOTM...ahhhhh...I've got visions of Horatio Caine driving my old beat up Geo Metro down the Miami freeway...; ) Nice work on what I think would be a tough OS...

The rhyming and overall Idea were fabulous. Not a fan of the title (don't really understand the title is more like it) but the parody itself minus the title's use is really good.

Car trouble is always tough, trust me, I know. 555
Medemia - February 28, 2010 - Report this comment
I really like the twist at the end where the singer gets retooled instead of the car. Always a fun pun. I need to expand my horizons. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Mark Scotti - March 01, 2010 - Report this comment
Repairing my thanks to Arwen, Dave(the title is based on a mechanic's term of fixing a car 're-tooled'), DJ and Medemia!!!
Matthias - April 18, 2012 - Report this comment
I kinda agree with Dave: I don't really understand the word "re-tooled". Is it supposed to be like "repaired"? A bit confusing but I love the rest of this song and I had my car die about a year ago so I've been there dude, I've totally been there.
Mark Scotti - April 19, 2012 - Report this comment
Thanks, Matthias. My brother is a mechanic and he has used that term in reference to repairing a car, hence how it stuck in my head.
Porfle Popnecker - April 20, 2012 - Report this comment
Well done, although it strikes a little too close to home right now!
Mark Scotti - April 23, 2012 - Report this comment
A quick "repair" of thanks to you, Porffle.

For ABC here...there were spots here and there that irked me for their clunky English, but the way this parody drives along (hehe) with the funny concept and the twist ending I cant knock it down too much.
Mark Scotti - April 25, 2012 - Report this comment
Thanks Agri. But hey...it's sung by cocky Englishmen who speak broken English...LOL

(ABC) See above!
Blaydeman - April 29, 2012 - Report this comment
(ABC) A tweeky-tweeky makes everything nice and squeaky (clean) Idk where I ws going with that... now I'm embarrassed.
Mark Scotti - April 30, 2012 - Report this comment
Neighing my thanks to you, Blayde "tweeky"...LOL. and bobpie!
D-Mon - May 01, 2012 - Report this comment
(ABC) One thing's for sure, this parody doesn't need to be "re-tooled". So leave it alone! LOL!
Mark Scotti - May 03, 2012 - Report this comment
I won't leave it alone to express thanks to you, D-Mon!
Abbott Skelding - May 03, 2012 - Report this comment
Hey, see my previous comment up there...about how this isn't my favorite Who song? Yeah, forget that one...I love the OS and I love this parody! Excellent job!
Mark Scotti - May 04, 2012 - Report this comment
