The Lyrics

I was another website where they were doing mash ups of Who and Beatles songs and Baba O'Rigby was the most well received title. So I thought I might try to put words to it. It started out a a lark but as I reached the end I realized I could do something touching and poignant with this. So I went with it
Out here at the church
She's left in a lurch
She's wearing a face that she keeps hidden
He don't need to write
Sermons to incite
Folks don't seem to need forgivin'

None cried; none said goodby
Twas only Lonely Person

Father wipe that dirt
It's Eleanor's last hurt
Walk from her gravesite
And don't look past your shoulder
The devastation's clear
It's loneliness they fear
Get them together
Before their lives grows colder

Lonely people
It's all the lonely people
Lonely people (oh Yeah)
Lonely people
They're SO LONELY!

Lennie - These are fun to do, and can be very rewarding. When I go to karaoke, I always take my Pretty Woman to Zoot Suit Riot routine with me. Good work here. ;D

So OMR, does the average person actually crack up when you sing a good parody at a karaoke; cause if so, maybe I'll try it

Neat 'smooshing' Lennie, though it doesn't seem to add anything new. I believe I read somewhere that McCartney got her name from a gravestone. The string quartet was revolutionary pop at the time ('Yellow Submarine' was the B-side). I wonder if there are any real Eleanor Rigbys out there who protested (or Baba O'Reillys for that matter).

Yeah, best thing about this parody is the title -- seeing as how Baba is a nickname for grandmother in many languages

Nice to see a good old fashioned "smoosh" again. And using songs old enough that I recognize them.
