The Lyrics

This is not my personal view, but an attempt to imagine the mindset of those folks that critics of Mel Gibson's "The Passion" are so worried about.
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?

Lugged that cross through the streets of J-town
Folks were jeering on the way
They said, "You can die, you're a blasphemer
On our God's Earth you will not stay"

He staggered on, to Calvary
And the blood stained his long hair
Crowd was mockin', throwin' curses around
"Hey preacher!"... gawks and stares

Was it the Jews? (Who killed him? Who, who, who, who?)
Or rulers sent from Rome? (Who killed him? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, was it Jews? (Who killed him? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who killed him? Who, who, who, who?)

On that cruel hill, just out of town
They nailed him to the tree
And 'though they made him out to be a clown
Jesus lost no dignity

He said, Lord, if it's your will...
But the fates were sealed that day
Said, "Take this cup from me", but died still
God, your plan allowed no other way

Who killed you?
Jews or Jews or Jews or...
Jews or Jews or Jews or...

Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who killed you?
Who, who, who, who?

Was it the Jews? (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)
Or rulers sent from Rome? (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, was it Jews? (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)

A pilgrim to the place he walked
Hot land bereft of trees
I think of blood and broken bones
Cry and I wail, down on my knees

They spat on you, condemn their souls
Betrayed you with a kiss
How can I not avenge your suffering now?
Gifts of peace and love dismissed

Was it the Jews? (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)
Or rulers sent from Rome? (Who killed you? Romans, Jews, who?)
Tell me, was it Jews? (Who killed you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who killed you? Romans, Jews, who?)

Mac - Thanks for putting out a Christian message. It takes guts these days to say that you love Jesus. So many hate Him still and will have no love for those that honor Him. Well done. My 5 funny vote actually means profound. God Bless you.

Heavy duty, mac, heavy duty. I appreciate it when writers have the guts to write serious parodies. Regardless of whether or not any given reader likes and/or agrees-with what you wrote here, there's no denying the raw emotion in your words. 5's

Guy, Johnny, your praise is much appreciated. Like I said in the opening comments though, the perspective isn't really mine. I'm trying to imagine the mindset of the people the ADL are always warning about, people who would get so worked up over a movie like "The Passion", that they would think about taking it out on Jews. I'm guessing that such people are few and far between, and that this whole thing is overblown... but who knows? Personally, I was brought up in a strong Baptist home but, although I still respect the message and philosophy of Jesus very much, I no longer consider myself a "believer".
