The Lyrics

Having also posted today the third consecutive riff on Lennon's "Imagine", here's some advice for those temporarily finding themselves inspirationally-challenged, as per the plaint in the song's opening link. OS Lyrics. Video.

Old Man Ribber, naught but thin air?
Reading your groan: cannot write; no insight; need a shove, do?
Listen to your brain; it's saying:
"Keep on with those word-plays, playing"
"This song, you know it, so go 'head and blow it, you'll love to!"

Old Man Ribber,

Riff three times on the same song if you want to
Twice is alright; surely one more to go
All you writers:
[Pun] [Pun] [Pun] on the same song 'cause it's fun to
But for TT: Do three hundred? Uh, no!

If you sit at your puter tonight
Starting to sing at the notes that you just ripped apart
Look at OS you have shredded
Already in your head, embedded
Spawning some new schemes; let prats fall; your genius, go and start!

Do repeat, Yes!
Riff three times on the same song; it's so easy
Pacing is right; it's an OS you know
Listen, writers!
Seven times: grumpy, happy, dopey, sleazy
Jump on Snow White; make three dents in the "Snow"!

[Interlude -- lots of knocking, perhaps on the ceiling, but hopefully, not knocking "up"]

Oh, let us see your wit displaying
Tell us of the sheep you're laying
Once floored, you'll show me
Great writing, bestow me
I love it!

Writer's Block-heads:
Riff three times on an OS you have done to
Let it get ripe; to "submit" box, you go
(We'll love you! We'll love you! We'll love you)
Screw discreetness!
Knock shock schlock: endless inspiration all day
Slice up some tripe? C'mon, do just one mo'!

Would never "knock" one of your parodies, Sir Tear-A-Pen... Or OMR's either, for that matter.

Riffalicious and replaytabulous TT! (this from a "Rag' reprobate who knock-rocks-Spock-schlock-non-stopk!)

This is one advice worth listening to! I also found another answer: : "Tommy Turtle's Tips for Perfect Parody Pacing!" I read your profile and went on your website and boy, do you have a very interesting life! The next time I decide to write a parody, I'll be thinking of this parody. Love the OS and your parody! 5's!

Hate the OS but not your parody! 5's!

Old Man Ribber: You're quite welcome, and well deserved. Thanks for the v/c.

Fiddlegirl: A new addition to the list of riffs on the testidines chelonian's many nomenplaytures! ... Thanks for v/c, and agree with the latter.

AFW: Thanks... although with your prolific pen, seems AFW hardly lacks for inspiration!

TJC: In thine case, TT was definitely preaching to the quire of ideas thou generateth.... thanks for v/c!

Mark Scotti: Thanks for knocking me up! (Andy Primus will tell you that in en-BR, that has an entirely different meaning than in en-US, which would make for some interesting misunderstandings!)

Christie Marie M: Glad you found the Guide, and hope it's of some value to you! Yeah, it's never been boring.... even the downsides :) Thanks for v/c!

Andy Primus: Agree on inanity of OS -- and those are the ones that are even more fun to skewer, no? Thanks for v/c!

Great one, TT, and I'm sorry to say this, but I'm a fan of this OS. If you were to look at the parodies I've written, you will see that "Fallin' in Love" by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, "Mellow Yellow" by Donovan, and "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney and Wings have been frequently parodied by me. But, I'm not going to try and match John A. Barry's record of "I Put A Spell on You" parodies, with those three OSs or any other. 5s to you, and I have a parody in the works about Michael Jackson. (Yes, I broke down and decided to write a tribute to him.)

Andria: no problem re: liking OS; life would be boring if we all thought exactly alike. (For one thing, imagine seeing twenty writers all posting the same parody on the same day LOL!) Thanks for v/c, and I'm sure your MJ parody will be eugenious. (hehehe)

alvin: thank... you... much... for your comment... and your vote, too
