The Lyrics

[I -- Your 'Do]

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel turn his head both ways
And still his hair stays in one place
I've seen ol' Ted Koppel turn his head both ways
And still his hair stays in one place

Be it straight, or fine, or coarse, it's a cover for your head
Comb it over, make it last, there isn't enough to fully spread

'Cause it grows is grown ingrown as you grow and it grew
Combed over...more is seen to lose

Move it over any blank spot
Lose the gleaming shine you've got
Just remember that your hair
Should look as though it's nature's garden spot

Must surround your head with your hair
Comb up from your ears
Send a blast of Conair to heat
And frizzle it, then trim with shears
(Must surround your head)

'Cause it combs is combed in-combing over as you comb
It over...baldy sheen to lose

Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda
(Must surround your head with your hair)

Donald Trump has hair like an elf
Wrestling with a bear
Sends a blast of helium gas
And twizzles it, into the air
(Donald Trump has hair like an elf)

'Cause it swirls is swirled in twirls like two girls' curls, and then
Hops over...like a kangaroo

Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (All we are seeing)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (In Paris and France)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (All we are seeing)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (Is hair that can dance)

'Cause it's heaped it creeps in leaps like two sheep ankle-deep
In cotton...

[II -- Ol' Ted Koppel]

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel turn his head both ways
And still his hair stays in one place

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel nodding up and down
And still his hair is forward bound

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel looking back and forth
And still his hair is pointed north

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel glancing all around
And still his hair is bolted down

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel lookin here and there
With no displacement of his hair

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel take a windy blast
With his hair helmet standing fast

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel bob his head about
With chunks of hairspray falling out

I've seen ol' Ted Koppel turn his head both ways
And still his hair stays in one place (repeat)

You describe hair that can scare...in very funny way...I like the "Trump having hair like an elf wrestling with a bear" line

Well done, Porf. Great wordplay here. Enjoyed it's shine and the way it looks the same from both sides. Also, how it appears to watch you no matter where you stand.

Lennie--that has sometimes been known to hair-pun. Glen--I'm overcombed by your comment!

Great work here... Ted Koppel's hair is as weird and repulsive as mine is striking and sensual, same goes for The Donald's. And my head is definitely surrounded... great OS choice as always (I have been listening to a lot of Yes lately), and 5s.

Wow, I don't hear that word every day! Thanks!

This is very fricking funny, and you were able to solve the problem of that repeating line where most folks (including myself) couldn't or wouldn't!

Thanks, I had the advantage of having Ted Koppel's hair as an inspiration.

While I don't really know WHO Ted Koppel is, I liked this parody because it was more about hair than anything else and I've got my own share of hair problems so reading this tickled me.

(ABC) I got a "Koppel" of great laughs out of that one. FIVERS

Gotta agree with Matty on this one, I know who Ted Koppel is but I just read this parody as someone with hair that doesn't move. I liked the detail in each of the verses, nice work!

(ABC) Wish I knew who Ted Koppel is, but still as a parody about a dork who has hair like a rock this works really well. 555 cans of hairspray!
Blaydeman - May 17, 2012 - Report this comment
(ABC) I agree with the consensus that I have no idea who Ted Koppel is, but I could still follow the parody because it was very generalized to his hair. That aspect of the parody was very humerous! Good job on this one!

Thanks for the comments, now hairy up and google Ted Koppel!

(ABC) Ted who? I guess I'll be one of those googling. As a general thing, it was really good.
