Like him or not, the media has gone overboard with the coverage of the death of former president Ronald Reagan. While I respect the man for his leading the nation, this overkill of information because he passed away is rediculous

Not bad, and an excellent choice for the subject. But I think you relied too much on the original. (You even forgot to change a gender pronoun there - "He had her moments?" - ouch!) I had to really work on mine ("America Needs You, Ronald Reagan") because it would have been very easy just to sub Ron's name in for Harry Truman and a good portion of the lyrics would apply directly. So I have to give you a 5 or pacing (I mean it is almost a carbon copy of the original with the exception of "Santa Ronald" for "Santa Evita". ) But I can't give you high marks for originality, humor or general profundity. I go 534. Still, though I do not share your opinion of Reagan, not a bad approach to the funeral here.

Very good. Though Reagen was a great man, I think they need to subside a bit. All this press coverage reminds me of the time when Madonna kissed Britney and Christina and when Justin exposed Janet's boob. Ray Charles died yesterday, and I haven't heard as much about him as I should be hearing.
Not bad, but I think the "mourning all day, mourning all night" line was kinda moving. That reminds me about the time I watched the live coverage of the services (e.g. the procession at Washington D.C, the funeral Mass at Washington National Cathedral, to name a few). The smoke from the funeral clears line might be the 21-cannon salute. Because it has a wee bit of humor, I'd give that a 534.
