The Lyrics
While trying to work on parodies of some other Colleges (notably Peterhouse, Caius, Trinity, John's, Robinson and New Hall), I put my Andrew Lloyd Webber CD on the computer and suddenly got the idea for this one. Rather full of jargon, so here are some explanations. A May Ball is a big posh post-exam event - Christ's does actually have one every two years but the way I've put it made a good rhyme. The Tompkins Table is a league table of average exam marks for each College. A supervisor is a professor for whom one has to write huge essays and then meet for an hour-long heated academic debate of the ideas in said essays. And in Cambridge a DOS is nothing to do with computers but stands for Director of Studies.
