The Lyrics

Finally. This is it. Read this thoroughly, because it has the winners of the Weird Awards! So, it starts out with the parody (shout out to Max Power who requested it for me), and then it moves to the Weird Awards, which starts with a parody of the spoken intro to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast (with a roast hopefully most of you will get). Next to the winner’s names will be the songs I suggest we parody together, and don’t worry, we’ll figure out who parodies what verse and all that junk. Anyway, on with the show!
“No, don’t leave me, mommy!”
My big brother, brotherhood

I’m watching Disney
Spending my weekend at home
Wish I was alone
No supervision
Yet my big bro’s here at home
He will never let me go

Counting the minutes
Waiting for my mother
He says if I go
It will be a sin
And if I ever sin
He’ll tell mom
I would be would be grounded
And then I’ll wanna die
I would start to cry
I would get pushed and shoved
By my big brother for my crimes

My big brother, boy, you’d be sorry
I just want to have fun with you
Hey big bro, where’s your credit card?
Let’s have fun, I’m not a Spartan
Being at home is such a bore
“Hey bro, let’s go to Walmart!”

I ain’t no grownup
But I can leave, yup
Hey, can’t we be reckless?
The only guys here are us
Hey, I’m tough enough
You think you’re so buff
Come on, let’s be cheaters
I will give you what you want

I don’t take no sh**
Waiting for my mother
He says if I go
It will be a sin
And if I ever sin
He’ll tell mom
I would be would be grounded
And then I’ll wanna die
I would start to cry
I would get pushed and shoved
By my big brother for my crimes

My big brother, boy, you’d be sorry
I just want to have fun with you
Hey big bro, where’s your credit card?
Let’s have fun, I’m not a Spartan
Being at home is such a bore
“Hey bro, let’s go to Walmart!”

My special brother
My big brother, brotherhood
My big brother, brotherhood

I can’t be patient
Waiting for my mother
He says if I go
It will be a sin
And if I ever sin
He’ll tell mom
I would be would be grounded
And then I’ll wanna die
I would start to cry
I would get pushed and shoved
By my big brother for my crimes

My big brother, boy, you’d be sorry
I just want to have fun with you
Hey big bro, where’s your credit card?
Let’s have fun, I’m not a Spartan
Being at home is such a bore
“Hey bro, let’s go to Walmart!”

My special brother
My big brother, brotherhood
My big brother, brotherhood

WEIRD AWARDS:

Introduction (Parody of the Spoken Intro from Beauty and the Beast’s “Be Our Guest”)

My dear rats who smell, let us gouge out your eyes
Go to the nether and let us nuke you tonight
We give you your expensive death tax, now let us shave your hair
As Logan the Amazing presents
The winners!

Winners:

Robert D. Arndt Jr. (AKA Rob Arndt): “Beat It” by Michael Jackson

Agrimorfee: “Dirty Mind” by Prince

Callmelennie (AKA CML): “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel

Jonathan: “Why Does It Always Have To Be (Wrong Or Right)” by Restless Hearts

Max Power: “It’s No Crime” by Babyface

We’ll talk over what the duet parodies should be, but those are just suggestions, so if you agree with me, then that’s what we’re doing. If not, we’ll try to find something else. Anyway, that was the First Ever Weird Awards. See you later!
Hope you enjoyed that! Duet parodies coming up! Tender Lover (My Big Brother)

Logan, great idea, but Jonathan and I already teamed up twice to do 2 parodies together that got hundreds of 5s. Been there, done that...

OK well, this is quite a production you have planned out here with us! Thanks for the invite. I think that to coordinate this out, though you should start an account at the sister site www.inthe00s.com. It is THE meeting place for dedicated parody authors and all AIR issues. You only need to give a name and your e-mail address to start, doesn't cost anything. After signing up, those who are willing to participate in this can meet up and chat about this with you there in a separate thread. Open the thread at the 'Song Parodies' forum. I don't know if CML or Jonathan are members (and Rob apparently is bowing out of this), but Max is active there along with myself. While you are there, you should check out the ongoing threads within 'Amiright Web Site News & Discussion' , 'Song Parodies' and 'Song Parody Contests'. I guess you will need to add another comment here to let us know what you do--which is rather inconvenient. NOW, as far as your parody goes, I don't know Babyface's music; I can listen to it later, but what I'm reading here doesn't seem like one of your best parodies. It isn't quite funny, maybe that's on purpose, but it seems rather lifeless. All in all, even if this 'Weird Awards" thing doesn't pan out, you should know that your enthusiasm for writing and positive vibes are really appreciated-- by me at least --in this sordid and uncertain world we are living in right now. Cheers.

I'm interested, besides the site could use more Babyface parodies. The reason I made that request was for that.

as Ag has mentioned, I do not have an account at the inthe00s site. however, if you like, I can give you some parody lyrics and a link to the OS, so you can finish it up! it's the courtesy Rob gave me, which led to that parody he linked for you! I'm really proud of that parody and would be more than willing to collaborate again! :)

In response to Rob Arndt: I saw. Come on though... I was really looking forward to this! Let me know if you change your mind! In response to Agrimorfee: Thanks, man. That is an extremely useful tip. I’ll set something up. I promise! See you there! In response to Max Power: Perfect! We can start sometime soon! In response to Jonathan: Okay! Thanks, man! You’re the best! I can’t thank you enough. I just hope CML is able to. See you!

With that said, the parody somewhat reminds me of Umaru.

Well now, Logan The Ambitious, I may or may not go along with this, but certainly not with "We didn't Start The Fire." Like I've said, too much work. OTOH, if you were to suggest "Bohemian Rhapsody", then maybe we can dialogue; I'll have my people get in touch with your people ....... I am the Master of The Rhapsody Disaster around here ....... Check out "Brohemian Rhapsody", "Gollumian Rhapsody" and "If Queen Had Performed Hamlet." They may be the best pieces I ever wrote.

Logan, we can make this one about some unfortunate lad, with a real fear of the dark, as he happens to be freaking out in the middle of a power outage! here are my lyrics, when you get the chance, finish it up and post the completed parody!:

it's no secret that I really don't like the dark
and given the choice, I'd rather play with sharks
and I do truly believe we're in for a storm
to make me wish I weren't born, you hear that thunder?

Why Did It Have To Turn Out The Lights?
power outages send me running for cover
won't somebody please, please help me?
now yellow-stained, no longer bright white
the once clean sheets I've wet, in my skittish blunder
grab a flashlight, somebody, I can't see!

You can't say that You didn't know where this might lead
And I know I couldn't have been That hard to read
But we both know this is not Where you belong
There's no need to carry on Oh, but I can't help but wonder...

Why Did It Have To Turn Out The Lights?
power outages send me running for cover
won't somebody please, please help me?
now yellow-stained, no longer bright white
the once clean sheets I've wet, in my skittish blunder
grab a flashlight, somebody, I can't see!

Oh, Why does it have to be wrong or right?
Why does it have to be one way or the other?
(Won't somebody please)
Won't somebody please please tell me
Why does it have to be black or white?
Why do we have hurt one to love another?
(Oh, tell me, oh, tell me)
Oh, tell me, why?
Oh, tell me...

Why does it have to be wrong or right?
Why does it have to be one way or the other?
Won't somebody please please tell me
Why does it have to be black or white?
Why do we have to hurt one to love another?
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me

Why does it have to be wrong or right?
Why does it have to be one way or the other?
Won't somebody please please tell me
Why does it have to be black or white?
Why do we have to hurt one to love another? (fade out)

In response to CML: Remember, that was a suggestion. And yes, I’ll be WAY MORE THAN HAPPY doing a parody of that song! 🤩 So, let’s do that song! In response to Jonathan: Cool, man! That’s great! I’ll get started on that right away! 😎

BTW, Jonathan. Do I make edits to your lyrics or do I add the lyrics on? ❓ I’m just a little confused, so that’s why I’m asking. Thanks!
Jonathan - December 23, 2017 - Report this comment
^ Logan, I posted the full lyrics to the OS, mixed with my edits. the lyrics which are not my edit, but rather the originals, are to be re-written by you. all you need to do, is listen to the OS via the youtube link, and put your own spin on the original lyrics I left intact. thanks again for this opportunity, this oughta be some fun!

I'm writing on this thread, Logan, even though it's not about this song, because I think you might return to this one. This is actually about the "Madonna/Nicki Minaj Scam Exposed" thread. If you look at that thread now, you'll find all the offensive comments have been removed. Someone used the "Report This Comment" link and the adminstrators acted on it. They dont do that very often, but what that one troll was doing to you was just awful. .... That, BTW, was very likely just one person. we have a couple (or is it just one?) remarkably vicious trolls plague-ing the site and every once in a while, they (he?) feel the need to projectile-vomit their mental pathologies all over our comment sections
