Original Song Title:

"I Love You"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Barney

Parody Song Title:

"I Miss Rob"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

Dedicated to your friend and mine, Rob Arndt.
I miss Rob, for you see
He was always nice to me
Even when my songs might tend to go astray
He had something nice to say.

I miss Rob, being here
At this game he had no peer
He could spoof one song in every single way
Post new versions every day.

I miss Rob, and his words
Swirling all around like birds
And I know some jukebox very far away
Has his songs on auto play.

I miss him too. If any of my songs mentioned history or weaponry he was always there with some interesting real world facts about it. Such a fun and entertaining guy. Picking this song was a good choice too because I think it’s one that he parodied a lot like “Put a Spell on You” and “On the Road Again”

We could sing the same tune about you, Slugger

Dont be put off, Porfle, by "Slugger". CML frequently affixes Depression-Era diminutives, like "Slugger" and "Sport" and "Champ" to people he really likes ...... BTW, I have it on good authority that something in a similar vein just popped up in my own mind on the subject of Porfle Popnecker. You'll have to come back Monday to see it

I'm sure that if Rob were around he would have had something enlightening to say about electric cars. I miss him. As I do Tommy Turtle, a genius at pacing and vocabulary. What ever happened to Kahuna of the Dells, or Fiddlegirl, Little Cupcakes, and my favourite, Leough (aka Leo Keough)? Time sure goes by.

He was always commenting on my parodies with a grain of salt. Patrick covered my whole fan base.

you and me both.

Jonathan (the first) and the rest nailed it. Rob made so many parodies so interesting. I'll never be able to hear "Love Me Do" without Rob's take on a current issue or topic of the day. "Warrior, rest. Thy task is done,"

I've not written a tribute to Rob Arndt since his departure. But I'm glad I was able to publish one while he was still around to see it: http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/thewolfetones0.shtml

Check back Monday Porf-pop. I got something brewing in my head that should yield a few assorted chucklements and chortle-izations; not quite on the epic scale of "Popnecker/Lyrics, Punning Mate", but should elicit a few screen spews and nasal soda-snorts

Nice tribute to a polymath and gentleman.
