Original Song Title:

"The Rose"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"The Hose"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

The Lyrics

A tribute to the fireman's favorite tool....
Some say love, it's in your liver
That filters out the crap
Some say love is like an oak tree
Full of bark and sap
Some say love is blind and stupid
An endless source of pain
I say love is in your head
The one that has no brain

It's the heart that gets the credit
That big old bloody pump
I don't know know the guy that said it
His head was in his rump
Poets always talk about it
Where feelings all reside
As one, I have an answer here
For men it's in their pride

When the life seems too darn "single"
Or the wife is on the road
You can write yourself a jingle
To relieve that heavy load
Just remember what I'm saying
When you feel the love, it grows
It's the need to be a-playing
When the spring comes to the hose

It's not just for firemen. We weekend gardeners treasure our hoses, too. Outstanding parody.

Rick and I have a very small, short nozzle for our garden hose, which we have named after a fellow musician who has a small... um... hose.

That's what I thought when i saw the title, Michael Pacholek! But then I remembered ours was called "The ?". Interesting innuendos there, Rick!

Yes, two parodies - same title, same song, but completely different. Just remember, "that which we may call a hose by any other name would swell as meat" (or something like that)

I like your Hose better anyway, Rick! (shhh! - don't tell Mari!) :-)
