The Lyrics

This parody is deep and metaphorical. There are some puns however. But this pun deals with Jesus sacrifice, which is forshadowed in the passover. Where the Jews would roast a lamb and eat it with bitter herbs. Christians see this as God's lamb taking away the sin of the world. Naturally the Passover and Easter are both in the spring. Also the Isrealites ate unleavened bread. Hebrews 9:22 says that without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sins. So if you ever feel like chop liver, think of how Jesus roasted for you. He loves you. Check out my other parody of this song "The Fold"
Some say life, it is a butcher
That carves your soul no feast
Some say life it is a baker
That bakes without the yeast
Some say life it is a candle
A flaming waxing heat
I say life, it's not a carcass
Or you, a piece of meat

It's the dream afraid of charring
That never heat can take
It the heart afraid of carving
that never claim its steak
It's the one who's always starving
Who cannot seem to eat
And the soul afraid of slaughter
That never touches meat

When life's fire, has burned to smithers
And the steaks, have been too high
And you think, that you're chop liver
Not a rosey carved rib eye
Just remember, at passover
Fired upon the Easter stove
Cooks the lamb, that is the Son's love
And in the spring, becomes the roast

Who is "Better Midler"? Did you mean Bette? A spellchecker would NOT have caught that, as "Better" is the correct spelling of another word. Nice parody though.

I don't believe Am I Right has a spell check. I'm sorry I added and extra R on Bette. I hope you fell better now. It was a total honest mistake. I wish I had an editor to submit to first. Then I wouldn't have so many errors. Thanks for you vote.

Who says theology can't be amusing? Neat song, Lionel!

Although meant well, this was in incredibly bad taste. Especially considering the Inquisition, in which those who, like Jesus, were convicted of heresy were, in fact, roasted by the very people whose job it was to uphold His teachings. And no one told them they were fired. It was their victims who were "fired," and Jesus who was thus "steamed." He'll forgive this, but he doesn't vote here. Neither will I, because this is a first offense. Write something like this again, and I will not abstain.

The Spanish inquisition has nothing to do about what the Bible says about the Passover. Judeo-Christian belief says that the passover points to the Messiah. I don't make up reality. I just telling it like it says in Bible. Am I Right?
