The Lyrics

This is dedicated to all the new parodists who get discouraged too easily by critics...
Woohoohoohoo, better song next time
woohoohoo, better song next time

If I'd never heard of AmIRight
There would still be send-ups left to write.
What else can I say?
Though it can't all be grade-A,
I'm hoping for a better song next time.

Once I thought my confidence was gone;
now I've found the strength to carry on.
Won't let it slumber,
talent isn't swayed by numbers--
I'm hoping for a better song next time.

Woohoohoohoo, better song next time
woohoohoo, better song next time

I'm the voice you're hearing in the hall
practicing until I get it all.
If I rehearse, then
I'll have the perfect verse when
I try to write a better song next time.

Maybe this won't sound very good
but I've tried all night,
the best that I could.
Maybe I've been working too hard:
I've gone this far
and it's all I can hope for.

Who knows how much further I'll go on?
I have faith my talent hasn't gone.
I'll take my chances
hoping that my fame advances--
I'll try to write a better song next time.

I had second thoughts at the start;
not ev'ryone cares
what's close to my heart.
I may not end up as a star--
yes, getting there is far,
but it's worth working hard for.

I don't care what mockery it brings;
music is my tool for greater things.
I love it so well,
making rhymes to tunes I know well:
I intend to write a better song next time.

Woohoohoohoo, better song next time
woohoohoo, better song next time

As a newby myself, with only 10 parodies so far, lighter looks at this genre like this project are always good to view and review. Thanks for the good work and 5's, better late than never!
