THAT was supposed to be FUNNY??

Nice try. I tried it myself, rhyming "Exorcist" with "Enemies List." That was good. "Broad Street Bullies, Evel K, Tricky Dick flies away" wasn't. "Jimmy Carter, Star Wars flies, punk and disco, Elvis dies" was okay. "Olympic hockey, Polish solidarity" was awful. "John Lennon blown away" was obvious. "Carl Lewis, New Coke, Reagan's Russian bombing joke" bombed. I was proud of "Clinton plays the saxophone, bigots in the Astrodome." I guess the moral of the story is, if you're not as talented as Billy Joel, you ain't gonna set anything on fire.

It takes more than just filling in the blanks to write a parody, no matter if you were being sincere with the historical list in the verses.

This is not exactly an easy record to parody, so on the face of it, this is quite an interesting effort. It made me laugh

I thought this wsa quite the effort. A hard song to parody, and it did manage laughs out of me.
