Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This song is how I felt while watching Spiderman 2 for the first time, and for some reason it came out as Billy Joel
He would swing on a web
And catch all the bad guys
He would climb up your walls
in his sexy disquise
And he wouldn't reveal
his great identity
Yeah, he hides like a child
But he's always Spiderman to me

He killed the Green Goblin
The dad of his friend Harry
He saved Mary-Jane's life
a million time's, it's scary
But one day when a-swinging,
he fell, poor Spidey
He's losing his powers
But he's always Spiderman to me

They- can't take care of themselves
New Yorks really screwed bad
They're in need all the time
Oh-and theyr under attack
Why'd you have to give in?
Did you just change you mind?

And he's seeing his Doc
For some advice on some dreams,
And he told Pete that maybe he's
Just not meant for Spidey
So he did what he could do
So he'd fin'ly be free
He threw it in the trash
But he's always Spiderman to me

Oh-Doc Ock can now ru-ule
The power of the sun
In the palm of his hand
Oh-But then he screwed up
He kidnapped Mary-Jane
Will this change Spidey's mind?

Peter's one of a kind
He suddenly gets struck
With his powerful powers
He's a Tonka Truck
Now to cut a long story
The city's not debree
They looked back in disgust
But I never lost trust
Cause he's always Spiderman to me

(SOTM) A newbie who comes in with talent is always a treat. This would be a worthy followup to Weird Al's "Ode To A Superhero". Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome. 555

(SOTM) DKTOS, but the file I used had Billy singing way too fast on one verse, so... so much for the pacing. It was pretty funny, though it's hard to compare with the other SOTM entries I've read thus far. I liked the idea, but Weird Al already took care of everything. 444

The pacing is off by a syllable in several places, but this is a pretty good summary of the movie and how Spidey and his fans must have felt. And the movie says something else that's true IRL: people will love what you can do for them, but they won't allow you any opportunities to gain anything for yourself. Spiderman never could earn enough to make ends meet, because people were always ripping him off. How America. -- MM

(SOTM) The spelling fascist in me is tutting away, but that's a small complaint. It's great to see newbies getting into SOTM, and since I hated the first Spider-Man you saved me two hours of my life! ;) Great job.
Matthias - August 14, 2006 - Report this comment
I liked how you used a Billy Joel song, like Weird Al's Ode to a Superhero

For whatever my advices are worth I'd say that a parody about a particular movie isn't the best choice for a round of SOTM, unless of course the movie is still up and running and others have written parodies about it recently. It was OK though.
The Charnstar - August 21, 2006 - Report this comment
Thanks for the advice Peter, I'll keep it in mind for next month *that's right y'all, you can never get rid of the Charnstar*

(SOTM) As you're new, I'll forgive the spelling mistakes and slight pacing mess-ups. And remember: When you're making a parody about a movie, keep it even, otherwise you'll have to jam most of the movie into a couple choruses, like I did recently.

SOTM-Good

For those who have given me 4's for pacing, you may be singing it wrong to the way intended... Such as when I write He you replace where She is in the song, where as that's not how it's meant to be... Either that or I just suck LOL Either one it's all good

(SOTM) I haven't seen either Spider-Man movie in entirety, so unfortunately most of this was lost on me. Sorry Charnstar. The words did flow well to the music though.
Stuart McArthur - August 29, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) this was very well-written, CharnStar, and the ideas were great, but I have this pacing gripe with unintuitive emphases - ie. it's all syllable-perfect and everything but it requires you to pronounce Spiderman as "Spid-ER-man" to pace to "a-WO-man" when intuitively it's pronounced SPIDE-r-man - not a big gripe, but I thought I'd mention it - 555
The Charnstar - August 30, 2006 - Report this comment
Yeah, what Stu said was what I was trying so say up there. LOL! I really go for sylabblitically correct... sylablitically is now a word... Anyway, thanks y'all

Interesting, Weird Al does Billy Joel for Spiderman one, Charnstar does Spiderman II. Nice job on a good OS.
Scathe - August 31, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I've seen both movies, they're good. This parody is good, too.
Jack Wilson - September 03, 2006 - Report this comment
Great job, maybe next year Ill do "Its Still Spidemran To Me"
The Charnstar - September 04, 2006 - Report this comment
Omg, you read my mind Jack Wilson, infact, that's what this originally was, but I couldn't think of the first verse, so I put it on random and She's Always A Woman To Me came on, so I did this instead
