The Lyrics

Weird Al does Billy Joel + Spiderman, then Charnstar, now yours truly!
What’s the matter with the suit Im wearin?
Can’t ya tell that it’s black as night?
Maybe I should keep the red and blue suit
The old version of Spidey guy
Well have ya seen Spidey out lately, honey?
He just looks emo, so he gets all the money
Everybody’s talking ‘bout his new suit
Funny
But It’s still Spiderman to me

Harry Osbourne is the brand new goblin
Cause his daddy. The green one died
He’s really set to kill his former best friend
Cause by him, his dad was fried
Mary Jane’s career’s gone right down the toilet
Better not tell why, cause I may just spoil it
Up-side down kiss, even with a new miss
He;s still Spiderman to me

Oh, it may have grossed more than the second
In the first weekend, Spider Man 3
Spider-Man’s different now
He’s dancin’ around the club and on the street
Dressed up like an emo teen

How about a pair brand new villains?
Who are not that villainous?
Sandman, he shoulda been tougher. baby
Cause he’s bulkier than a bus
But Venom ,he was sure a bit creepier
But Doc Ock was, what rhymes with creepier?.
Third film, biggest, grossed the most anyways
Not that great Spider Man 3

I guess the first half is all worth seein
But the second half not so much
It turned into “Spiderman Night Fever”
Mary Jane and Harry twistin’’s enough
But it beat the other’s box office money
The romance gets cheesy , even for your honey.
If the next film’s the same, that would be a waste
If it’s like Spider Man 3
Every fourth superhero movie just sucks
But better is Spider Man 3
2007 Jack "Local Celebrity"Wilson

What a coincidence! Weird Al parodied this song as "It's Still Billy Joel to Me", and later did a Spider-Man song that parodied "Piano-Man". So, it's almost like the two songs combined!

Wish I'd thought of this one. Wait a minute, I did, when the second one came out: "It's Still Octopus to Me." And I hadn't even seen it, or the first one, yet! Now I've seen all three, and, well, your complaints are accurate. I mean, seriously, didn't we get enough of Disco Spidey on "The Electric Company"?

nice encapulation

Pretty good, Jack. Some pacing blips here and there, and your rhyme scheme didn't always match the original, but that's just me being picky. The toilet/spoil it couplet was cute, and this was a nice dig at S3. 444

I can't believe I missed this when it came out. Pretty good stuff, liked Spider-Man Night Fever. Also, I think I forgot about talkin bout MJs career screwing up. Great stuff, 5-5-5

(SOTM) A nice synopsis of the film, still nice enough to not include many spoilers! What rhymes with creepier? Sleepier! All around clever, a good follow up to Al's "Ode To A Superhero" (but yours is better than his)

(SOTM) Not as many emo jokes as I had expected, but you had plenty of other complaints to use, which is a good thing. I have only seen the first Spider-Man, and I want to see 2 before I see 3. The trailer makes it look so good, as emo as Spidey looks. The pacing was off in places, but still a fun read. 455

(SOTM) Granted, it is about spiderman, but I think you say his name just a tad too much, and the pacing was a little off. 444

SOTM - There should be more spidey parodies on the web, he-he...

(SOTM) Best of yours to date, mate! Yet to see Spidey 3, but since I read this I don't think I want to!

SOTM - I don't know why, but for some reason I'm just not feeling this parody. It has a few gems but the pacing overall could be better.
Phil Alexander - June 29, 2007 - Report this comment
I didn't quite get into this, either. But then, I've never got into Spiderman. Two possible rhymes for "creepier" - "sepia" and that robot from Star Wars: "C3P-a"

(SOTM) I myself do happen to like Spiderman quite a bit, and I like the character Peter Parker. . .Not bad Jack, creative enough to keep my interest throughout and I didn't get bored. . .I'm going to have to go through your collection and see which one to record though. . .

(SOTM) Hmmmm, not bad but for some reason I found Max Power's comment more amusing than the parody itself, so 534.
Kristof Robertson - June 30, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) See above. Your humour is definitely developing at a great rate, jack...but continue to pay attention to your pacing and rhyming. Having said that, give yourself a huge pat on the back for this!

SOTM - Some pacing issues, but some good and entertaining observations about the movie(s). Emo Spidey indeed.
